How can you have a functioning society when all the country's wealth is consolidated with just a handful of people.

America is headed in that direction, and that's pretty fucking scary.

We need a minimum wage increase by $4 to even things out a bit.

we are already in that direction. CEO's and peasants (i mean workers) getting their min wage or below 10 dollar pay. Proportionally it is a joke, but economics 101 takes the cake almost everytime in a capitilistic society.
