You know...I looked at the pictures again and I think the mis-identified Eva's mom. I think the pictures without the hat ARE of Tony's mom. 1) Because she has a pile o' hair on top of her head and 2) if you look at the pictures today of Eva's mom, she has way shorter hair.

There's no priest at a civil ceremony. That picture is not from her actual wedding day. It's from the day before when they had to have a civil ceremony because of French law. She just wore that dress in the car and then changed into an above the knee, conservative (and a little bit ugly) white dress. And yes, it's pretty common to change when you get to the wedding venue.
