Link to R.C. not trading up? Belinelli isn't on the Spurs.

Link or evidence?

Well, the Warriors drafted Belinelli at #18. The Spurs failed to trade-up. Figure it out.

The Spurs were too focused on signing Bonner on draft night I guess.

Either it's irony or stupidity. Or it's a stupidly ironic post.

If R.C. would blink his eyes once in a while, maybe he could pull off a normal trade.

Spurs did try to move up to 16, but would have taken Dequan Cook over Belinelli.

Are we seriously believing the Spurs were after Daequan Cook? Seriously?

Raptors tried to get a pick to draft him, too, but he was gone before #20 anyway.

Eh, the Spurs taking a flyer on some Euro guy? We're talking the Spurs here.

Belinelli dropped 37 points in his first NBA Summer League game againgst the New Orleans Hornets, going 14-on-20 from the field, including 5-on-7 from behind the arc [1], adding 5 boards, 2 assists and 1 steal to help the Warriors earn a 110-102 win. His performace is tied for second for the highest scoring game ever in Vegas summer league history, behind Keith Bogans' 38 scored as a member of the Orlando Magic in 2004.

Then people realized it was summer league.

5-7 on threes through three quarters on Monday afternoon.

This guy is destined to be the greatest shooter in NBA history.

If we did get Bellinelly, boy would Eva have had a rival. Anyone got a pic of her?

Well we did draft Marcus Williams afterall. So anything is possible.

I'm starting to regret not drafting a PG in Williams's place.

First to say Marcus Williams gets cut before the final roster is set.

Marcus is probably more of an Austin Toros guy until he develops his game. He plays decent defense from what I can see.

dbestpro
07-10-2007, 01:20 AM
He won't even make it to the Toros cause he will take one of the 15 spots to pay for the Toros.

The Ghost of Alfredrick Hughes has great hopes for Marcus Williams.

Solid D

Marcus did a decent job on Green with Boston. He blew out a shoe when someone from the Celts stepped on his foot, so he had to revert to a white pair of shoes for the 2nd half. At least he scored a few points in that pair. :lol

R.C. said on a recent radio interview that he spent some time scouting Williams. He went to U of Arizona and watched Marcus in practice, so Buford apparently had done more than just watch him on ESPN.

4 championships tells me Pop and R.C. know what they are doing

RC was the one that convinced Pop to take Parker in the draft. That's 2007 Finals MVP Tony Parker mind you.

Oh, and he and Pop found Ginobili. I'd say they know what they're doing, wouldn't you?

I was hoping for the Spurs to get Bellinelli but Nelly took him way ahead of his projected spot by most draftniks. He would have eventually filled the #2 in 2008. I just wonder how many shots will be left for after Davis, Harrington ane Jackson get theirs.

I think R.C. should lose his job over his failure to trade up to #1 to grab Oden. Doesn't he know that the long-term health of this franchise depends on getting another big guy with the potential to dominate. R.C. should have offered Portland Beno, Barry, Butler, Bonner, and a couple of first round picks to get that #1 pick. His failure to convince the Blazers to make a deal like that tells me that he has no long-term view and doesn't really care about the future.

FromWayDowntown - excellent point! RC's total lack of foresight will eventually ruin this team. Frankly he should have offered the reast of the tam and thrown in the Silver Dancers to Seattle for the #2 pick. With those two studs all we need to do is sign some stiffs to fill out the bench and can you say"REPEAT!"
