SPURS RE-SIGN MATT BONNER AND JACQUE VAUGHN

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have re-signed Matt Bonner and Jacque Vaughn. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Bonner, a 6-10 forward, played in 56 games last season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.7 minutes a game. He scored in double figures nine times and led the team in rebounding on four occasions. Bonner spent 15 games on the inactive list after tearing his left medial collateral ligament on January 15 vs. Washington. The former Florida Gator saw action in nine playoff games en route to his first NBA Championship.

Prior to joining the Spurs Bonner spent two seasons with the Toronto Raptors. In his three-year NBA career he has appeared in 216 games, averaging 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 18.1 minutes while shooting 41.3 (177-429) percent from three-point range.

Vaughn, a 6-1 guard, spent last season with the Spurs and won his first NBA Championship. He played in 64 games, averaging 3.0 points and 2.0 assists in 11.9 minutes a game. Vaughn scored in double figures three times and led the Spurs in assists in nine games. The former University of Kansas standout saw action in all 20 playoff games, averaging 2.2 points and 1.4 assists in 10.4 minutes per game.

For his career, Vaughn has appeared in 672 games while averaging 4.6 points, 2.5 assists and 1.4 rebounds. The 10-year veteran has also spent time with Utah, Atlanta, Orlando and New Jersey.
