LMAO! I once knew a kid. A real moron. He always wanted a giant cross tat, so he got one after high school. It spanned his entire back. The funny part was what he decided to add around the cross, just because he liked this specific look as well. Without thinking, he asked for a cross, surrounded by flames.
Guess it didn't help that the kid was nearly albino he was so white.
White kid, giant burning cross tat...
Anyways, I had a friend who was always drawing various tat designs. One of his best looking was this real complex spiderweb cross. Starts with black in, then a dark gray, then a real light gray for highlights and it was damn tight.

If you google for tattoo designs (crosses) you will get a few pictures. I did it when I wanted to get mine last year. I ended up just going to the tat shop (in Austin) and looking through their books and picking one out there. Mine is small since it's on my wrist so it doesn't have a lot of detail but I like that. :)

Ouch... that makes my body ache thinking about the pain of getting that done. So much detail. I am a wimp... two tats, want a few more (little ones) and still hate the pain. haha But it's an addiction!

How bad does that hurt? I've heard from, not at all, to like fire ants biting you, to the most excruciating shit ever.

I guess it depends on where you get it. I got my first on my ankle and I passed out. lol With the cross on my wrist the closer he got to my palm the more it hurt. My cousin got hers below her neck on the back and it didn't hurt her too much. The funny thing is that the shading/color didn't hurt as much as the outlining of the tat. The black part of my cross hurt the most but when he did the shading and color it wasn't that bad. same goes for the ankle...
I don't think I have a strong threshold for pain anyway so that's probably another reason I was a wimp. :P

I would never ever EVER get a tattoo that has a print made already, it basically means you're putting something permanently on your body that shitloads of other people have.
Imagine how much of a chode you'll feel like when you're at a party and see a guy/chick with the same tat. It's like a chick who sees another chick at a party wearing the same CBGB shirt. Total pandamonium.
Design your own cross, then give it to the tattoo artist. That is the only way to go, unless you get a slogan, or phrase, in which case its hard to customize if you want to stay cheap.

How bad does that hurt? I've heard from, not at all, to like fire ants biting you, to the most excruciating shit ever.General rule is that the closer you are to bone, the more they hurt. With the exception of the one around my belly button, all mine have been near bone (wrist, ankles, shoulder blade, etc.) and have hurt like hell. One of my very smallest tattoos is at the base of my spine and that one hurt so bad I almost cried.

Could you describe the pain?
And CBF is kinda right, which is why I'm also thinking of just making my own tattoo design and letting them ink it on for me. I got a long time to plan this.

Feels like a burning hot dull scalpel tearing up your skin. And if there's coloring and/or shading, they have to keep dragging the needles over the same place over and over again.

can you tattoo a mole? a penis? btw, cuckingfunt has a tattoo on her mangina which she hasn't mentioned.
btw, essay spur, im giving you REAL advice, don't get a tattoo. you will regret them in 20 years. you will go from liking hard music (skulls) to country (cowboys) and you will hate that tattoo. well maybe not, but you will still regret it.
tattoos are wack anyways. the only tattoo that is SOMEWHAT reasonable is one honoring a person that passed away.
SAY NO TO TATTOOS!!!

If I had a tattoo on my mangina, my pride would be so great I'd shout it from every rooftop from California to Maine.

I'd have five myspaces, two facebooks and a flickr account all dedicated to posting pictures and giving status updates on my mangina tattoo.

I very much doubt the religious piety of anyone getting a cross tattoo.

Feels like a burning hot dull scalpel tearing up your skin.
A slight exaggeration, imo. It feels like someone dragging a sewing needle across your skin. Each stroke doesn't hurt that badly, but when they're doing thick outlines or heavy coloring and they're dragging it over the same piece of skin over and over again, it gets irritating, and then painful.
