nuthin like a good bowl of menudo on a cold day, but why the hell is it so expensive? The ingredients are cheap, but even at a reasonablly priced "dive" a bowl is $5-$6...even more than beef or chicken caldo...whats up with that?

Isn't it because you can't buy part of the ingredients anymore because of the "Mad Cow" scare?

I dunno...it's always been relatively expensive...

Could be because most people who buy it are hungover and will pay any price to make it go away...

Maybe that's why we didn't sell more records.

My theory:
2 reasons:
1) Fewer people these days want to take the time to prepare it, perhaps not really being very good at preparing it "right".
2) Because they CAN charge more. Like Fajita meat. (It used to be cheap backstrap. Now they call it "Fajita" meat.)

^^^ agreed. The shit takes time to make, not to mention prepare.
