THEORY #1 - Spurs were unwilling to buy out Scola's contract and the Rockets are gonna pay, knowing the kind of organization the Spurs are --- this is what you would call a "good will" trade.

Remember that the guy they drafted in the first round this year, Tiago Splitter, also belongs to the same team as Scola is.

The trade is probably a gift to the Euro team to let their new draft pick play for the Spurs.

Rocket's buyout Scola's contract, the Spanish team get the money they want, and Spurs get to use their new draft pick. Everyone's happy.

or

THEORY #2 - This was part of us taking Lindsey away from Houston. Ive heard of players exchanged for front office people indirectly in minor league baseball but not in the majors.

or

THEORY #3 - CAT HOLT lost a recent lawsuit and brother needs some pesos for a new BACK-HOE loader.

or

THEORY #4 - The real shooter was in the grassy knoll?

Why do you want a conspiracy theory for a trade that makes a lot of sense for Spurs FO.

Spurs FO thinks that Scola and Butler aren't good nba prospect.
This trade has allow them to save money, to open a roster spot and to get a future second round pick.

Theory #5: It was to give "spurscenter" an excuse to post thread after thread after thread after thread after thread on the same gotdamned topic.

The trade was stupid, we get it already. Move on.

This is a horrible trade for the front office. Houston isn't a lottery team, so that pick really won't be THAT high. Plus they were offered a second rounder for Scola alone (and probably by worse teams, hence higher draft picks, than the Rox). Surely they could have dumped Butler somewhere for ANOTHER 2nd rounder and have gotten more than just the one pick for two players. And to top it all off, they picked up Spanoulis who is a whiney bitch and the Spurs shouldn't have to deal with him. If the trade had gone to....Milwaukee I wouldn't have cared. Charlotte? Nope. But to send him to a division rival...dumbasses. We sold low...really low.

The new guy Lindsey is secretly still on the Rocket's payroll. They have paid him to come here and dismantle the Spurs and trade away all our "valuable" assets like Scola and Butler. Next he'll trade Bowen and Parker. Then it will be Duncan and Manu.

We are destined to be a team captained by Beno and Barry and some aging duffers.

Maybe the SPurs just didnt see much in Scola that they felt they couldnt get other places
