I have seen Ed Nealy play.
I rode the VIA bus to the Iceman's homecoming as a bull.
I've seen us play against sacramento when they sported not only powder blue unis but also reggie theus.
Shook hand with the fur coat clad A-Train after a shoot around in salt lake city.
Attended game 7 in '05.

From 1973 to 1975, Did you ever buy those $3.00 green seats behind the back board in the Hemisfair , and then move over to the more expensive red seats at mid-court?

Are you aware of the napkin contact that brought us Gervin?

Do you remember the orgasmic thrill of trading for Gervin, Kenon, Paultz and Gale?

Did you religiously read the San Antonio Light, san Antonio Express, and San Antonio Evening News daily for any nugget of info about the Spurs..... pre cable TV, internet and chat boards?

Did you ever party with Gervin, Olberding, Gale, Kenon , etc at Reed's Red Derby? (Do any of you remember where Reed's was?)

Do you remember the Rich Jones fight?

Did you ever sit baseline and watch Dr. J with the Nets dunk?

Do you remember feeling so violated and raped after the 1979 series with Washington?

Do you remember how close we got to beating the Lakers but lost when Mike Mitchell missed his 12 rainbow shot?

Do you remember the dark Ages of Spur coaches Mo McHone, Bob Weiss, Jerry "Tarkington", John Lucas?

Did you rush out and buy season tickets BEFORE David Robinson signed?

So much more.....

That's why I always went for the SRO . . . they were never obstructed view. You were just blocking people's exits in case of a fire. :lol

BTW, the obstructed view seats in the old Boston Garden were much worse than the HemisFair. They had seats blocked by the overhang where you couldn't see any scoreboards and half the court.

I loved that movie Coming to America. That's the only Romantic Comdey I liked. That movie was the SHIT especially when Samuel L Jackson comes to rob the joint and Eddie Murphy's like: Please abstaine from using any more profanities in the vicinity of these people or I will be forced to thrash you. :lmao

I remember one game I was at... I must have been like 5 or 6 years old, and it when Mark Olberding was playing for Sacramento. My dad and Olberding were talking before the game, and he said he missed all the Mexican pussy in San Antonio. One of his teammates kind of whispers, 'hey Mark, there's a kid here', and Olberding turns to me and says "Come on, he likes good pussy too." :lol

The one-question litmus test:

:elephant:elephant:elephant

The worst tickets I ever had in Hemisfair were for those orange seats in the small overhangs at the front of the upper deck, behind each basket. As a kid I could never see shit from those, and then you had a freaking fence in the way of your view on top of that.

Explains why Olberding moved back to SA.

Who knew he was Beno's role model (at least for one thing)?

$3 tickets next to the smoking section good enough for ya? Of course after the 1st quarter ended my sight lines improved significantly. Ahhhhh, the old hemisfair lower deck migration.

I think my favorite is when Eddie Murphy is describing Monday Night Football to his boss and he looks at him real stern and says "Son, listen up, I'm only gonna say this once. If you want to continue working for me, stay off the drugs."

Fucking support pillars...

I always thought the interior of Hemisfair Arena looked pretty cool, unlike those cookie-cutter coliseums in Phoenix, Portland, Indiana and Richfield that didn't have an upperdeck. But I'm guessing watching a game there wasn't so great. The support pillars look like stilts:

Not to mention if you had a lower level seat under the overhang---not obstructed by a column---you couldn't see the scoreboard.
