The game started 15 minutes ago. This is the second game the Spurs are playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue. And again, the game isn't being shown on TV or online.

We'll most likely have to wait until the boxscore comes out late tonight to get any type of update. The good news is the game will likely be replayed sometime next week on NBAtv.

Interesting that Sanikidze started but didn't play a lot of minutes. James White also didn't play much ... and it doesn't look like he did much. Marcus Williams came off the bench and he put up the kind of line we've come to expect from him.

Without Butler, this team has no hope.

Watson again screwed us over. 2 assists in 33 minutes.

White had 8 points in about 13 minutes. Not so bad.

Marcus Williams saw about 28 minutes and had 7 points, 5 turnovers, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds. Typical.

Sanikidze saw about 10 minutes and had 3 points and 2 rebounds. I don't what's Newman's problem with Sanikidze. We should be seeing a lot more of him than we are.
__________________________________________________ __
Shelden Williams owned our ass with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Acie Law IV had 9 points and 5 assists.

Devin Green, whoever that is, had 12 points.

Al Horford had 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Wasn't Pop supposed to go up to the RMR for the main purpose of watching James White? I think I read that in a Ludden article...

Maybe he made everyone nervous...

Looking at the box...the Hawks d'ed up on them. I think I saw Watson only took 3 shots in 30 mins or something...had to be some serious d being played on them.

It might make sense to sign Sanikidze to a contract and let him spend a season on IR with the Toros while on some kind of strength training program. But then the Spurs wouldn't have the 'standard' 1, 2/3, and 4/5 on IR.

by the way, someone I know went to the game and did a report afterwards said that White and Sanikidze both went down injured in the first half; White's injury looked like an ankle sprain and he couldn't tell what injury Sanikidze had, so that is why they started the game but didn't play many minutes

I haven't seen Pop at either RMR game yet.

James White and Sanikidze both hurt their ankles in the 2nd quarter and left the game and did not come back.

Langford played pretty good today. He got to the rim several times, drew contact and finished.

Sheldon Williams of the Hawks destroyed the Spurs bigs down low and out to about 12 feet. Williams looked really good. He has a good stroke for a big man.

Prior to getting hurt, white looked good along with Sanikidze.

Marcus Williams didn't have a strong game, but he did hit a few long range jumpers with that very awkward shot that he has...kinda reminds me of Kenny smith's sideways rotation shot. Chip is REALLY going to have to work with Williams to get him to become a decent shooter.

Other than Sheldon Williams I was really impressed by former Gonaga player Derek Ravio of the Hawks. He has a really nice shot and seems to run the point well. He doesn't force anything, but rather takes what the defense gives him...he hit several 3's today...very pure I might add.

I have a few pics from the game that I will post tomorrow.

Nice work, callo1.

The Spurs have tomorrow off. Hopefully White and Sanikidze can find their way back onto the court before the end of summer league. They are both fighting for a roster spot at this point.

Jackie Butler had 10 points, three rebounds, one assist and a block in 13 minutes today. For the Rockets.

No word if the $6M Holt made by giving him and Scola away to a divisional rival is scheduled to suit up for the Spurs next summer league game.

Swingman James White, who appeared in six games as a rookie for San Antonio last season, was limited to 13 minutes because of a strained tendon in his foot. He is listed as "day-to-day." Free agent Marcellus Sommerville, who spent last season playing in Hungry and France, had his arm in a sling after getting elbowed by Williams and sustaining a left shoulder contusion. The forward from Bradley exited after hitting just 1-of-6 from the field in 12 minutes, and also is listed as "day-to-day."

Then there was swingman Viktor Sanikidze, who played fewer than 10 minutes against the Hawks because a sprained ankle. His Revue is done, but it's not because of the ankle. The 2004 second-round draft choice, who never has played in the NBA, was planning to return anyway after Saturday's game to his team in the Republic of Georgia.

WHO'S HOT: After hitting a ho-hum 5-of-14 from the field in his opening Revue game Friday, Atlanta big man Shelden Williams was on fire Saturday.

The No. 5 overall pick from the 2006 draft finished with a 23-point, 11-rebound double-double in 30 minutes against the Spurs and made a tidy 10-of-12 shots from the field.

"I thought he was a little bit more focused [Saturday]," Drew said of Williams, who led all NBA rookies in both rebounds per game (5.4) and double-doubles (eight) this past season. "He seemed to play a little bit more under control. Didn't look to force as many things. He took what the defense gave him. And that's how he has to play. He can't be one of those guys that's looking to always create for himself."

In the Revue's nightcap Saturday, 2007 first-round Jason Smith scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field to help lead Philadelphia past Revue-host Utah 100-85 -- quite a bounce back from a Friday effort in which the Colorado State product hit just 1-of-8 against San Antonio.

Whether it was with squared-up jumpers or dominating drives to the basket, Smith scored virtually at will against the Jazz.

The 76ers also got a 15-point, 15-rebound double-double from ex-Jazz forward Louis Amundson, who is averaging 16 points in two Revue games, and a game-high 20 points from French League swingman John Cox.

Meanwhile, Jazz rookie Morris Almond's team-high 13 points Saturday came on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. The first-round draft choice from Rice University has hit 50 percent -- 11-for-22 -- in his first two summer-league games.

WHO'S NOT: After shooting 2-of-7 on Saturday, Spurs 2007 second-round draft choice Marcus Williams -- the University of Arizona product -- is just 6-for-21 from the field in two Revue games.

Among the four Revue field teams that have played at least one game through Saturday, San Antonio is the only one that's winless, at 0-2.

Atlanta bounces back for second day win
Rocky Mountain Revue Day 2: Hawks 79, Spurs 68
The Daily Utah Chronicle By: Chronicle Sports Staff Issue date: 7/16/07

SALT LAKE CITY - If any of the San Antonio Spurs in the Rocky Mountain Revue represented the NBA's current champion version, the Spurs could kiss their chances of repeating next year goodbye. For the second time in as many nights, the Spurs took a beating, this time at the hands of sophomore Shelden Williams and the rest of his Atlanta Hawks, 79-68.

In a game that was pretty much out of hand for the Spurs by halftime, none of the Spurs could muster more than Keith Langford's 14 points, or even stay in the game for that matter. Three of the Spurs, Victor Sanikidze (1st quarter), James White (2nd quarter) and Marcellus Sommervillie (3rd quarter) all went down with injuries. None of them returned to play.

The Hawks, meanwhile, bounced back from a disheartening last-second loss to the Utah Jazz last night. Aside from Williams' 23 points and 11 rebounds, the Hawks got contributions from both of their 2007 lottery picks - Acie Law (nine points, five assists) and Al Horford (nine points, nine rebounds and three assists). Gonzaga product Derek Raivio also chipped in 10 points and three assists.

Williams, the Hawks fifth pick in last year's NBA Draft, is still looking to dispel the critics' assertions that he was selected a few spots too high after a disappointing rookie season. His performance this afternoon may be the breakout game he needed to reverse his fortunes.

The Spurs showed little signs of disappointment as they were getting blown out, some players even laughing and paying little attention to the game. The coaches know they still get to return home to a roster that features Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, and NBA Finals MVP Tony Parker. No worries here for the Spurs.
