That sucks. Hopefully it doesn't plague him the whole season like it did to Tim in 2006.

It also depends on the severity. He's got 3 months to stay off his feet.

Well, we've got our excuse already for why SA was able to win the 2008 championship.

That's bad news.
3 months of rest should help, that's what it took for Duncan to get through it.
Duncan was really hobbled by it in '05/'06, I hope Marion can get through it before the season starts.

I never like to see a guy go down injured, even a guy whose not on my team.

I'm glad he's skipping Team USA in favor of resting up. Hopefully 3 months will be plenty of time to recover and be ready for the '08 season.

So when does he blame the Spurs for this?

diplomatic excuses to have more time to rest and be ready for next season. more to come from other player who should go to team USA

Yeah, that's probably it. Didn't Shawn skip team USA before with a "sore knee"? Probably nothing serious, although hopefully we don't have a Larry Hughes/Brad Miller on our hands. I think that Shawn will come back strong because this is a contract year for him.

It's only a contract year for him if he decides for it to be.

He should totally worsen the condition in order to play in some meaningless games so that he's hurt throughout the entire season and is less effective for his team. What a fuckin' pussy :rolleyes

I also like how Spurs fans in this thread say that it's weak to use it as an excuse for not playing.

"We woulda beaten you if not for Timmy's pf." Never heard that before.
