What I don't get is how someone can hire a person just by a phone interview then send them to a person's home Where they charge the home owner to fix something they may not need and still get paid 30.00 dollars an hour to do so?

Am I missing something?

Please tell me before I call them thanks.

Hello and Thank You for inquiring about our opening in San Antonio. Below is a brief description about us and our service. I look forward to your reply once you have had time to review everything.

Our company is Practical Computer Solutions, LLC (PCS). We do business in a variety of business names due to restrictions in some areas. PCS services both residential & commercial PC users providing onsite troubleshooting and repair services.

I contract; not hire computer technicians to represent my business and service my customers onsite. The technicians I contract are “self employed contractors”, not employees of PCS.

I pay a flat rate of $30.00 an hour to contract technicians, your time starts when you begin work onsite. Your travel and other expenses are your expenses – I pay the flat rate only.

The technician must be willing to travel at his own expense to the job site. Depending on where you live or where you may be traveling from, some job sites may be close while others may be as far as 45 minutes away. The technician must be willing to travel to the job site at their own expense to work with PCS.

Currently, I have a long term contract technician position open for San Antonio and the surrounding area.

This contract “computer technician” position is a part time – on call position. The work load varies depending on the amount of calls we receive in your service area each week.

Because our work is completely dependant on customer response, I cannot tell you how many hours per week you can expect to work. This position is best for someone looking for a good secondary source of income or a part time job at an excellent hourly rate!

You must make yourself available for service calls during our business hours to remain on our dispatch list

This position will only be offered to the following candidates:

* Technicians who are accepted after a phone interview
* Technicians who have computer repair experience to work onsite
* Technicians who have the tools needed to do the job on-site
* Technicians who are available to work during the shift open
* Technicians who can cover calls in our service areas
* Technicians who can be prompt to appointments
* Technicians who can represent PCS to our customers responsibly
* Technicians who can pass a simple criminal back ground history check

If you have good PC troubleshooting skills and are experienced in computer repair, have the tools needed to do the job and can work onsite, have a “business like” appearance – You may be a good candidate for this job?

If you meet the qualifications above and are ready to work, reply to this email to begin the interview process.

Thanks again for your inquiry; I look forward to your response.

I'd love to give my input about the same job description you posted last week, but I'm busy watching reruns of "yo mama", and this week Pak Attack goes against Holla.

No. This looks dodgy to me:

"Our company is Practical Computer Solutions, LLC (PCS). We do business in a variety of business names due to restrictions in some areas. PCS services both residential & commercial PC users providing onsite troubleshooting and repair services."

Also, why would you work for this guy? $30 flat rate, no retainer, no guarunteed work, no benefits, you pay your own costs... sounds like a fuckwit to me. You can do much better than that on your own!

Word! This guy is pretty much a middle man when you think about it. Just get your own side jobs like you do right now. And you still get the same nothing that this guy is offering you.

I mean as for as not getting any benefits that a job would offer you like health care and shit like that.

I think my husband did some work for them on the side several years ago, it was contract like that but can't remember the exact name. I will ask him.

Thanks for the feedback patnas! I should do at least do one job to see if maybe he is legit but I see red flags all around. Finally my 9/11 conspiracy mind was right.

Thanks.
