I understand the theory behind the Scola trade and hope it pans out.

Now that this has been accomplished and we have some movement--what are the priorities now.

Is the top priority Ime or Ian?

If its Ime--what do we do if someone outbids us? Do we go after Pietrus?

In other words--what do you think Plan B, C, D, etc, are now that we did the Scola trade.

Or are we going to sit tight until we trade Beno and Barry?

For the record, I am not trying to go back over the Scola deal anymore. Its done and over with--we have to move on.

That is the point of my question. What do you think the FO is making as its top priority and what alternatives would you think the FO has in mind in case that deal is not accomplished?

I think the next move is

Increase the prices of the Whataburgers inside the ATT center

to increase profits for CAT HOLT legal funds

what do you think spurs can do?
they do not want to trade manu, duncan or tp
no one else will get them anyone that is great
they have the mle
who will take that?

Pietrus may be the next target but right now he wants more then the mle

The Spurs made who and offer? Udoka?

I don't think anyone has really confirmed that. Only that the Spurs have some interest in him.

I was under the impression that "the plan" was to field the same roster as last year.

There is just no way of telling exactly what the FO is up to.

But you just gotta have some faith in the people that have managed to assemble a team that has brought us 4 NBA Championships.

I for one don't expect them to just start spending $$$ for the sake of spending $$$.

I'm sure they have a plan and a contingent plan in case the plan doesn't pan out. Am I going to worry every second of the day because they haven't told me what those plans are? Hardly. I'll just leave it to those that make this their business and trust they will put another championship caliber team on the floor again this season. I doubt I will be disappointed.

Standing pat. The shock and dismay here is laughable when Pop/RC said that's what they were going to do. :lol

I am not being critical of the Spurs FO.

I agree with Kori--except for some Portland Blog, I have not seen any confirmation that the Spurs made an offer for Ime.

I have a theory about the Spurs' success and failure over the last five years. Each year they seem to get a new back-up point guard and the championship seems to hinge on how he performs in the clutch.

2003 -- Speedy Claxton. Great in the playoffs - title.

2004 -- Anthony Carter. Bust, injured. No title.

2005 -- Brent Barry. (Okay it's a bit of a stretch). But Barry played PG well in the Finals against Detroit when Beno melted. Title.

2006 -- Nick Van Exel. Bust. No title.

2007 -- Jacque Vaughn. Nice playoffs. Title.

So who is in line for 2008???? :)

Can anyone explain what the Spurs are doing?

Find the cheapest alternative.

making sure TD only retires with 5 or so rings. instead of the 10 or 11 he should have.

and there's still the 08 master plan, we have 3 mill more to spend next year now that butler is gone, unless we sign oberto
