We have an 80's and 90's songs thread might as well be a 70's one as well.

My all-time favorite song came from this decade:
The Devil Went Down to Georgia - The Charlie Daniels Band

Drift Away
Artist: Dobie Gray

Day after day I'm more confused
So I look for the light in the pouring rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
I'm feelin' the strain, ain't it a shame

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
I'm countin' on you to carry me through

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

And when my mind is free
You know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue
The guitar's comin' through to soothe me
Thanks for the joy that you've given me
I want you to know I believe in your song
Rhythm and rhyme and harmony
You help me along makin' me strong

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

I wasn't the one who confused the 2 artists....I know my Three Dog night.

Make It With You -- Bread

Bread kicks ass.

They always help in the "getting laid" department.

Apparently the original members of Kansas were Chris Kaman, the late Bob Ross, Jesus, and Marty Jeanetty.

Do the Beatles count??

Don't get me wrong, they're my favorite group.
But, they only released one album in 1970, and most of that album (if not all) was recorded in '69.

I don't know if their my favs, but when I listen to "Crusin" by Smokey Robinson or "Easy" by the Commodores, I go baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Motown was what was playing on the record player or radio at home when I was growing up.

All the other stuff (CCR, Boston, Eagles, The Who, etc.) was on when I was driving around with my Dad.

I guess technically they count....but in all actuality they are really a 60's group.
Now Wings is a different story.
