Jordan pulled plug on Jefferson deal
Friday, Jul 20, 2007 1:12 pm EDT
According to multiple league sources, the New Jersey Nets were "very close" to completing a three-team trade that would have landed Lamar Odom from the Los Angeles Lakers while sending Richard Jefferson to the Charlotte Bobcats. The Lakers, in turn, would have received Gerald Wallace from Charlotte.
One source insisted Charlotte part-owner Michael Jordan squashed the deal.

Both overrated, but Jefferson > Wallace
Ummm Jefferson, when healthy, is much better than Wallace...not to mention Wallace is always hurt.
Do you even realize what you just said?

Not only are Wallaces numbers better but he is also miles ahead of Jefferson on defense. I don't know what makes you think Jefferson is better.

What are you talking about? Wallace is hurt more than Jefferson. Regardless of their injury problems, Jefferson is still the better player.
Wallace played in 72 games, while Jefferson played in 53. Not to mention in 04-05 Jefferson only played in 33 games.

I think i'd rather have Jefferson.

:lmao
Jefferson could average 28 ppg on the Bobcats. Wallace would average 10 if he played with Kidd and Carter as a third wheel.
Jefferson really isn't the third wheel since Kidd isn't much of a scorer. Jefferson and Carter get all the shots on that team, and anyone could average Jeffersons numbers if they had a future Hall of Famer like Kidd feeding them the ball.

You guys actually think Wallace is a better player? :lmao
He gambles a lot for steals and gets some cool looking blocks. That doesn't mean he is a wonderful defender. He has a poor looking jumper and cannot create his own shot. Richard Jefferson is just as athletic but is a much more polished player.
You're opinion of Jefferson still doesn't make him less injury prone as you claimed.

Wallace > Jefferson w/Kidd
Wallace >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jefferson w/o Kidd
Plus Wallace is younger and more athletic.
Between him and Vince Carter, New Jersey has the Dynamic Overrated Duo.

Plus, Wallace is developing a consistent jumper.
Jefferson has never had one and it's too late for him to get one at this point.

That's fucking hilarious.
Jefferson would be lucky to shoot 40% from the field and average 15 a game with Charlotte. And with Kidd dishing him at least 5 wide open looks or drives a game, Wallace would be a 20+ scorer easily.

I'll take Wallace.
