La Fogata on Vance Jackson between 410 & IH 10.
Los Barrios on Blanco Rd. near Basse Rd. (el mofofo plate)
Jacalas on West Ave near Hildebrand Ave.
However, I've always seen lots and lots of people at Camino Ranch off of IH35 before you get to 1604, but don't know about it, yet very curious.

If you're headed downtown... La Margaritas

There's a good one, El Jarro de Arturo on n. San Pedro in the shopping center on the southwest corner of San Pedro (281) at Bitters Rd. El Jarro de Arturo

It's about a mile from the airport in the 13000 block of north San Pedro. Sorta upscale with a lady making hand made gorditas, good margaritas, mariachis and a band some nights.

Mi Tierra is always a good choice. it's just a few blocks away from the riverwalk right by market sqaure and the food is always good

Forget it. You won't have time to eat. 410 west is blocked off by the airport and traffic is backed up for miles. Try coming down 281 from 1604. Good luck.

You can't go wrong with Los Barrios or La Fogata.

Next time I come to SA from Austin I'm going to hit La Fogata. I've heard a ton of good things about that place.

Forget all of those places, try Navarro Grill on West Ave. The nachos are to die for.

well......the margaritas may be better than the food. La Fogata was awesome back in the 80's before the owner got in trouble w/ IRS.

He since went on to open a couple of others under his relatives names.
I think Mira Sol on Broadway is a new one.
