Sushi Sake is my favorite. Have you ever tried the Spicey Susan roll? It's not on the menu but my friend recommended it me so I tried it. It's pretty incredible, and it's always kinda cool to order off the menu.

I don't like Sushi- reminds me of a meal one might be forced to eat if stranded on a deserted island.

Give me a steak and potato over it any day!

To tell you the truth I can't remember. I never really pay attention to what's in sushi rolls because the ingredients might scare me away. I usually just dive right in. Ask the server about it next time you go.

Mmmmmmmmmmm sushi! Fujiya has to be one of my favorite spots in San Antonio to get it. Spicy tuna, dragon, spider, crunch, shrimp tempura, yummm.

The only sushi I've had in Austin was at Musashino and it was delicious.

I love sushi. I tried one with Philadelphia cheese on it and it was awesomeness.

I tried eel as well. It was great as well... didn't think it was going to taste like fish. Actually didn't have a clue what it was going to taste like.

I was going to eat sushi one time, but then I saw that there wasn't any Japanese dudes doing the sushi . . . sooooooo, I just left.

That's like going to a Mexican restaurant run by Chinese dudes.

It just doesn't make sense.

Tokyo sushi on Bee Caves Road and Walsh Tarlton is one of my favorites - it's a little out of the way and I think get overlooked too often. Family run - not part of the Tokyo sushi & steakhouse chain. Good lunch prices, and dinner is pretty affordable compared to some of the other sushi places in town. The crazy roll and rainbow roll are both incredible. The alaska roll is simpler, but also very good. And the miso soup is some of the best I've had.

I'm way too wimpy for sushi. I want to like it, mostly because its so pretty, and I like other Japanese food, but I just can't do the raw fish thing. I like the smoked salmon. And I found a restaurant where I live that has a very simple sweet potato tempura roll, which is awesome. That's as far as I can go, though.

Love it. I mainly go for the basic Nigiri... Yellowtail, Salmon, Mackerel. Rolls are okay, but I don't really go for the crazy-ass platters that are all sauce and rice and no fish.

A lot of sushi is cooked. Salmon and octopus are usually boiled briefly. Crab and shrimp are always cooked. I agree on the sweet potato tempura; that stuff is amazing. Avocado rolls are great if you're not into the cold seafood thing.

I used to think that too, after trying it at a few places and buying it at the grocery store. I think a lot of places freeze it, and it destroys the flavor. I live not five miles from the Pacific, and even here it was hard to find a place that has fish fresh enough that the sashimi/sushi is flavorful. The vast majority of the trendy / expensive places I've tried really suck too.

Niki's is the best quality I've had, but Goros is damn close and a TON cheaper.

Suhsi Zushi is shit that is only acceptable in the most dire of situations. That stuff isn't that fresh.

410 and Vance Jackson, outside of the loop. You go North on Vance Jackason from 410 to the first set of lights and take a left and it's on your right. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's nice inside.

If you like squid and octopus, try the Squid Enchilada, it's a Spicy California roll, wrapped in octopus, and covered with squid salad. It's my favorite roll ever.........well, my favorite roll outside of eating sushi in Hawaii.

The salmon is either boiled very briefly, or frozen first. Salmon is much too dangerous to eat raw without doing one of those two things. Only fish that spend their entire lives in the ocean are safe to eat raw without freezing. Wild salmon is full of dangerous parasites.

If the place serves you completely raw salmon, it was frozen and will most likely have no flavor.

Oh Good God.

But the roll I was talking about is a Squid Enchilada. Godai's doesn't have that on their menu, but Goro's does.

So again, I meant Goro's.

But if I said I liked something from Goro's, then why would I have meant a different place?

If I liked said roll at Godai's, then I would have said, "I like the roll at Godai's". But I didn't, I said I like it from Goro's.

I would only boil it very briefly, otherwise you'll destroy the texture as you were saying earlier. I remember getting kind of freaked out about sushi when I was reading about how dangerous raw salmon (whether wild or farmed) is, and supposedly almost all of the cases come from people buying salmon at supermarkets and thinking it's ok to just eat out of the package.

brilliant.Yes. I sat at the computer for seven hours with a "reply to thead" window open wonder just what witty piece of prose I could come up with for you and that was the best I could do.

I don't believe I'm ever going to sit here and put more than 2 minutes of time and effort into your idiocies. I ignored it the first time (really I just didn't know what to say when i was making my first post, so it really took me more than a day to come up with my post) and decided to call you a failed smartass the second time.

By the way, you came up limp yet again. Nice.

The worst thing anyone can do is eat any seafood that is farm raised. That's where you have alot of parasites and other bacteria. Raw wild salmon is just that. Raw. There's no need to boil it. Wild Salmon is one of the safest fish to eat. Raw or cooked. Mercury is in almost all seafood, but salmon contains the least of all. Tuna is the worst. Farm seafood.......bad.
