Oh how I hate the Rockets. But that's not enough to make a good take, so I guess I'll need to come up with something to discuss. Let's do some head to heads...
Better defensive coach-Pop or Van Gundy? Pop's Spurs tied with the Pistons last year, but Van Gundy is doing a good job with far less in Houston.
McGrady vs. Duncan-who's the better scorer? Clearly Tim's got the D working over T-Mac but which scorer would your rather have-good ol' Groundhog day's 20-25 a night or T-Mac's streakiness with the occasional 45 point explosion every dozen games or so?
Best dopy looking white boy guard-Beno, Barry, or Sura?
Worse coach hair-Pop's wusstastic Riley wanna-be or Jeff's Comb-over of Doom?

I rather have Duncan because I doubt he would walk out on a losing team even if it was the end of the season.

Rockets? After our Spurs lost last night, let's hope we get better sleep 2nite.
And btw, let's also hope Dirk mangles the Starbucks team! :elephant

Rasho should be able to resurface tonight playing against Yao. If Rasho doesn't log over 25 minutes, then something is wrong. He might also go to the line tonight :wow
Bowen will hopefully be awake in the first half this time.

Parker/Beno should have a field day against this team. The PG spot is definitely the weakest which hopefully equates to easy points

This game is a brick fest. Ugly ass basketball.

End of first quarter. So far, Spurs look as bad as they did in the first yesterday. Looks like Seattle may go down as one of those games that cause you two losses. Rasho is active on the glass but not finishing.
Spurs 20% shooting for the quarter. Rockettes at 25%, but finish the quarter on a 12-2 run. Rose shooting jumpers outside his range (don't hate, those were Kerr's words), Barry still not hitting, offense looks bad.

Nice first quarter for him.
No comment on anyone else.

Pop needs to make the "I got a Rasho, bring another one" call just like in that commercial.
It could end with Carlisimo pulling up with Sean Marks. He did dunk on Yao in the Olympics.
The Spurs need to score 5 more points than the Rockets in the second half!!! :oops

TP, 8 assists already?
Is it just me, or do the Spurs seem to play a lot better when they have the lead?
Even when its just a matter of a shot or two, we seem to play with decidedly more confidence if the scales are tipped in our favor.
Aggie Hoopsfan
12-09-2004, 09:58 PM
Put Brown on one wing, Manu on the other, and let's put this thing out of reach.
And Malik, quit shooting long jumpers damnit.
Rasho's going to the line! One-hander time!
Still 50 percent with it, I guess (2/4?). Better than his old average, at least.
Marcus Bryant
12-09-2004, 10:00 PM

Popdamnit Bowen, do not shoot the jumper off the pick and roll, you can't make it.
At least he turned McGrady off again.
Now we just need to get a damn shot to fall.

4th quarter so far:
Rockets 6
Spurs 0
Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you by any means.
Bowen should just pretend like he's not allowed to shoot inside the 3-point arc :lol And he just proved it.
Aggie Hoopsfan
12-09-2004, 10:17 PM

Brent Barry is right! DB is playing well this season.
Devin and Duncan carryin the load. A couple more shots should put them away.
DB is inching closer to that scoring average. With Barry's minutes, he might be able to make it. :spin

12-09-2004, 10:29 PM

Dear Malik, Yao is a foot taller. Think before you shoot.
On a sidenote, where are the fans tonight? Is Htown that boring to watch/
Duncan having a bad shooting night but he's money everywhere else with 18 boards, 7 blocks and 9-10 FTs. :elephant
Pop just put Manu in the dog house. :(
No fucking way.
I hate TMac.
Aggie Hoopsfan
12-09-2004, 10:40 PM

Bang! TMAC for three again!!!
What in the freaking world?????? 3 3-pointers in 1 minute? He's trying to pull a Starks on us. Who is guarding him?????
Fuckin word.
I've seen TMac do this a couple times when he played back in Orlando, and I never even made it a POINT to watch Magic games.

The end of the game is the kind of situation where you put the ball in the hands of your vets. Sorry.
Kori Ellis
12-09-2004, 10:52 PM
The Spurs had the ball up by two. Devin had it and should have just gotten fouled and gone to the line. He tried to dribble or something, tripped and lost the ball to the Rockets. They came down and hit a 3 to win the game.
manustarting2gd

Van Gundy had nothing to do with that, he was going through the motions like any coach down by ten with less than a minute to go would, Tracy McGrady won that game by himself plain and simple....

TMac wins an ESPY or whatever
No the Spurs did loose that game, your defense can't give up thirteen points in thirty-five seconds, and Brent Barry should have had the ball in the end, not Devin Brown....
Goddamn it. I can't take this dropping back-to-backs thing. It's too much stress for consecutive evenings.

Dude, granted that McGrady gave an other-worldly performance ... But you can't blow a 10 point lead with 52 ticks without making mistakes:
0:48 Tony Parker Bad Pass. Stolen by Scott Padgett. 74-66
0:24 Tim Duncan Shooting Foul. Duncan's 4th Personal Foul, San Antonio's 2nd Team Foul. 78-74 (when T Mac made his 2nd 3)
0:07 Devin Brown Lost Ball. Stolen by Tracy McGrady. 80-78

Other than Devin's bad turnover, the Spurs didn't really do anything to lose this game. TMac just went off and hit a couple miracle shots.

You can't stop shots like that.

No team is flawless for any 45 second stretch. Shots are missed, turnovers are made.
Except if you're the Rockets at 9:30 pm CST on 12/9/04.
0:48 Tony Parker Bad Pass. Stolen by Scott Padgett. 74-66
I thought we would lose right after this happened. It's the kind of shit that gives a team hope. Right before that when Kerr said something about the 10 point lead being more like 20 in this game I told my wife, "Hell, they can score 10 points in 30 seconds if you let up on them."
Maybe I'm just too pessimistic from getting rivered in my online poker games all the time.
