I'm reminded of the Phoenix Suns team in '03 and the Grizzlies last season - both teams have outplayed the Spurs in the regular season and both faced the Spurs in the play-offs.
The result? The Spurs knocked them out.
While the Sonics win last night proved that they are a legitimate contender and perhaps the Spurs' biggest headache (for now at least) , there is really no reason to be worried. There is no way they can keep their hot shooting until April!!!
Once Barry gets his groove back , the Spurs are still favored to clinch HCA.
And here's an interesting pattern too !
1999 - Spurs had the best record (37-13) and won the title
2001 - Spurs had the best rercord (58-24) advanced to WCF and lost
2003 - Spurs had the best record (60-22) and won the title
2005 - ???
Every other year since 1999 the Spurs won the HCA. Both Spurs titles were won with HCA clinched.
