NEW YORK, Dec. 9, 2004 – Shaquille O’Neal, Tracy McGrady and Stephon Marbury lead the NBA’s list of most popular player jerseys based on sales at the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City and the NBA Store on NBA.com since the start of the 2004-05 NBA regular season. The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls top the league’s list of most popular team merchandise.

NBA.com will provide fans around the world with the opportunity to select the NBA's best-looking uniform through an exclusive poll on the site. Each day beginning December 9 and continuing through December 14, fans will be able to vote for their favorite uniform in each of the six NBA divisions. The six winning uniforms will then be highlighted in a final poll to select the NBA's best-looking uniform. The winning results will be posted on NBA.com on December 21.

It's likely because he was traded... Everyone in Houston bought a TMac jersey when the trade went down.

That explains Shaq being #1 as well.

Shaq just isn't the type of jersey you want, no disrespect to him. I agree Spurm, the only reason for T mac n Shaq is because of the trades

Stephon Marbury is no surprise for me either at the #3 spot, if you thin kabout it, he plays for New York, the most populated city in US.

NY is a big basketball city, so probably everyone has his jersey
