LeBron vs. Wade.
The Spurs overlooked again despite being the Champs?? :lol
"After three years, the NBA and ABC wisely concluded the novelty has worn off Shaq vs. Kobe/Heat vs. Lakers on Christmas. Instead, word is the NBA will have the Heat play in Cleveland on Christmas, creating a Dwyane Wade vs. LeBron James matchup.
Though the schedule circulating is tentative, Heat-Cavs is expected to be one of two ABC games that day, a league source said. The Heat is tentatively set to open at home against Detroit on Nov. 1. "

After failing to market the Spurs appropriately during the regular season the same media outlets then balk at the fact that Finals Ratings are low...
Tis' a product of their own doing if you ask me....

Overlooked again? The league ran a Spurs v. Pistons game the last two years on Christmas day as a rematch of the 2005 NBA finals. While that series was competitive and worth having a rematch, nobody cares to watch the Cavs get smacked around even more in a 2007 finals rematch. Frankly, you have to make it competitive for people to desire a rematch. Can you blame the league?

spurs might be the other game
it would not shock me to see spurs vs suns
cavs and heat could be a good game very low scoring

I guess this means that the Spurs aren't likely opening against either the Heat or the Pistons and that they're probably not playing the Heat or the Cavs on Christmas Day.
Only 27 other possible opening night opponents.

Whoop-de-do. It should be Cavs vs. Heat. It will give the Cavs an opponent they are capable of beating. LeSweep and co will just get smacked around by the Spurs once again. At least the annoying ass Suns were competitive.

If it's a double header as usual, the other matchup could be Spurs-Suns/Mavs or Suns vs. Mavs.

How long has it been since the Finals? And we still got a Cavs fan that thinks the whole "boring" angle is trash talk? Like really, did you see the NBA Finals? Do you know what happened? You really do think people in SA care if people watch or not, honestly? :lol

Since they are trying to build the Cavs in the Spurs' image, I'm not sure how a Cleveland fan saying the Spurs are boring is actually an insult.

Are we playing the Suns? They added Grant Hill, let's see if they can beat us this time.
The opening night last yr was a success against the Mavs. I am excited to see Amare on our ceremony night:D
BTW, Duncan will be happy so much he might laugh & giggle(:lol) all night long, I don't want to see Crawford officiating just yet, okay? :lmao

The Cavs weren't competitive enough to warrant being the team for the ring game. My preference would be the Suns, though even the Jazz and Nuggets put up a better fight than the Cavs.
I'm not sure what occasion we should have for the Cavs game... Ladies' Night?

There's no better way to showcase your game on a holiday than by having a never ending string of trips to the free throw line. My only hope is that Bennett Salvatore is the lead official, so we can see another 3 1/2 hour non-OT game like Spurs/Mavs in game 1 of the 03 WCF.

And exactly how many games did Donaghy call in the Finals, anyway??

Is not the games he did in the Finals but the games he did during the playoffs in order to get the Spurs to the championship round.
