IMO I'd rather pay $45 and not have to go through the pain of watching WNBA

They should play a combined co-ed game.

yet the tough big guys behind their computer screens, couldn't carry the sport bras of the silver star's players.

Classic sexist scared tough guy BS.

Sounds like a great deal.

Too bad I'm not in town to see the game.

That doesn't take away from the fact that certain people don't find it interesting.

I've been very impressed with the Stars' team this year.
I have even found myself pausing in my channel surfing to see how the team is doing and whether they are winning.
I think I am being won over. :)

I was talking to my season ticket rep on Monday and she said that the team is doing well (1st place) and is on pace to make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. I am not sold yet, because I think the WNBA is marketed really badly. I haven't made it out to the arena to see a game yet, maybe I will feel differently when I see them in action live.

How many more wins do the Stars need to clinch a play off spot?

No need to insult the league just because people can't watch a certain basketball.

have you seen a wnba game? that league is a joke... sorry.

as for big tough guys well i aint one but i do play bball and i sure as hell wouldnt want people to watch how terrible i am on the court let alone pay to watch.

i aint being sexiest but some sports are sex-oriented and the whole "i can do anything you can do but better" is so wrong when it comes to bball. makes me wanna puke even when i see a flash of wnba while channel surfing.

The Stars are actually more entertaining than some of the crap matchups ABC sticks us with during the regular season.

Women's basketball is a significantly different game than the NBA. I've watched some WNBA every year since it's inception. It's entertaining in it's own right to me.

But people have different tastes, and not everyone is going to find it entertaining.

Anyone know when opening night is......

None - they're in.

I'm not sure that's correct.

Magic number = Games Remaining - Games Ahead + 1 (to break ties)

For the Silver Stars, they're 15-7, which puts them 7 games up on 5th place Los Angeles, which is 8-14. The Silver Stars and Sparks each have 12 games remaining.

MN = 12-7+1 = 6

The +1 has to remain in the equation because they don't yet hold a tiebreaker over LA.

Sold on what...

Sold on the whole leauge. It just started getting tv coverage (at least this is the first year I have heard of it) It seems like they (the NBA) have been trying to push an inferior product on us. I have only devoloped a passing interest over the last two seasons. I may never be their biggest fan, but I have dropped my sarcasm when discussing the leauge.

Before this turns into another WNBA bashing thread, the whole purpose of this was to let anyone interested know that they could basically get a two-for-one deal and see a Spurs preseason game in the process for really cheap. If you don't like the WNBA product, don't go.

That's actually a bargain. And Bill Laimbeer coaches the Shock..watching that dude on the sidelines is pretty entertaining - kinda like Sheed in a suit and with gray hair. :lol 'sides, it's always fun to watch the Pistons go against the Spurs, even if it is preseason.
