Gooden To The Warriors?
July 30, 2007 - 7:40 am
HoopsWorld -
According to HoopsWorld, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors have recently had discussions about a possible Drew Gooden trade.

Moving Gooden would give the Cavaliers the opportunity to re-sign free agents Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic and still have breathing room under the salary cap.

If Golden State uses the exception created from the Jason Richardson trade on draft night to absorb Gooden's salary, Cleveland would not have to take back any salary, meaning both teams win in the trade. [READ]

They are trying to keep either Gooden or Varejao, they don't want to keep them both for the money they are making/want.

scola was not a starting forward with the spurs

it also is not like they do not have a star player to put people in the seats and sell cavs stuff either

Well they have been trying to trade Gooden for a couple years. He's just not that good (for the money).

Trading Gooden to make room to pay Varejao 6-8 million a year. :lmao

Varejao doesn't deserve more than 4 million a year.

I believe they are only offering him around the MLE. And he wants more, so he might just take the Q.O.

It'd be a disaster for the Cavs if they got rid of Gooden, then Varejao signed the Q.O. and bolted after that. Then LBJ would have seen Boozer, Gooden, and Varejao as starting forwards that were completely mismanaged off the team.

How sad that when it comes to the Spurs, Hoopsworld is the worst reliable source and now, these dumbasses just start a debate for something that is not going to happen given the source of the information......

Sad...

Look in the mirror, pal.

Why don't you go somewhere people want you? Is it that you need the attention?

Sad.

It's been reported for like the last month that the Cavs were gonna try and trade one of the two. This is the first time Hoopsworld posts this, although there have been multiple articles already. Being that you're a Cavs fan I thought you'd might know this.
