Wizards' Blatche Charged With Solicitation
August 2, 2007 - 7:22 pm
Sports Illustrated -
Washington Wizards forward Andray Blatche, a restricted free agent, was arrested early Thursday on sexual solicitation charges.
Blatche, 20, and a man identified in court documents as Gregory Palmer, tried to solicit sex from an undercover police officer, according to charging documents.
Blatche was scheduled to appear in District of Columbia Superior Court on Thursday, court spokeswoman Marie Robertson said. He was also wanted for failure to appear on a charge of driving without a license, stemming from an arrest in October 2006, according to court documents.
"We are aware of this matter involving Andray," Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld said in a statement issued by the team. "We are in the process of gathering all the information and will continue to monitor this situation. We will have no further comment." [READ]

Why should a willingness to pay for sex preclude a guy from getting PT or gettin' paid? If Ruben Patterson can get a roster spot, so should this guy.

Because, in three years the kid has been has been shot, and arrested two or three times.
Patterson was an isolated incident, as I recall. I certainly think it'll cost him a few years and several million. Instead of a team overpaying to the tune of 5 years, 20 million, like some reports had mentioned as a likelihood, maybe they offer 2/3 years, 10/12 million to lessen their risk.

How is rape an isolated incident?
This guy is a moron. Just go to a bar or club and yell out loud I make millions and play in the NBA and he'll have some sex.

What was he smoking? What sort of idiot goes shopping for prostitutes when it was a random hookup similar to this that got him shot in the first place? While a contract is in the works? And this kid apparently runs through money like toilet paper; it was rumored that he slept at the Verizon Center for a part of his rookie year 'cause he couldn't pay rent. While earning a six-figure salary. Amazing. :dramaquee

He forced his kids nany to give him head. She turned him in. He got in trouble. Nothing since.
Maybe the actions leading to him being turned in were numerous, but he's been in trouble just once.
This is the third or fourth time for Blatche in three years.

the guy was gonna have a team offer him the full MLE and have the Wizards match/better that offer despite not accomplishing jack shit in the league.....too bad he screwed that up. what a dumbass.
Always remember: if the hooker is hot, it's a cop. Stick with the slumpbusters and you'll be fine.
