So here's the deal...... Oh before I start, let me say HI to everyone! ....

Okay, so last weekend was my best friend's birthday and I was in charge of the photography. The next day I downloaded all of the pictures into a folder. Once they were downloaded I highlighted the ones I wanted to send (like 98 of them) and a short video, and right clicked. Then I clicked send to email, typed in my friend's email address and voila......... or so I thought.

Now the email is stuck in the outbox and my PC is slow as crap. The email is even slower. It won't let me open the message in the outbox, it won't let me delete it.....nothing.......

What do I do? Can it be fixed????? Sequ's really mad at me :oops :oops
And it took me like 40 minutes just to get this message to you guys.....

HELPPPPPPPP!

Thanks in advance.... :dramaquee

98 pictures and a video? How many megabites is that? What mail program are you using?

You're probably choking your mail program. I would see if you can kill it with Control-Atl-Delete.

Then load your pictures up on a web page with a program like picasa and just send the URL to your friends.

ShoogarBear

And while you're waiting, you can make a big apologetic cherry pie.

Task Manager is not working......

I already sent them the pics. They gave me their shutterfly account information and I just downloaded them there for them........

Now, I'm the one that's screwed.... I knew I shouldn't do nice things for other people~ I hate being nice......

If the email is stuck in the outbox, you haven't sent them.

Reboot.

pseudofan
08-04-2007, 06:05 PM
Nope, reboot is not working either. It's still there. It's like 525megabytes or some rediculous crap.

When I open outlook to check it, it says outlook has begun transmitting the message in the outbox. It's like satan......

It's not going away! WTF???? I just want to get rid of the freakin email already!!!

I wonder if you can reboot...open in safe-mode, and then close out your email program, and delete the current task.

Whottt.

Do a system restore to a date prior to your email.

You rebooted your computer and Outlook is still trying to send it? I would do what P<S suggested.

If that ever gets sent, you're probably going to choke your friends' mailboxes, too.

I'm amazed Outlooks doesn't have a flag or something to warn you about this before you send.

Don't know if this will work...it almost sounds too simple

What if you disconnect your puter from the internet (router modem) .... will outlook eventually give up trying to find a connection...and just terminate the task by itself?

You know, that should.

Outlook should give up trying to make a connection. You'll get an error message stating that Outlook couldn't connect to the internet and then you can go to the outbox and delete the message.

A file that big may be better off sent here so your friend can retrieve it faster.

http://rapidshare.com/

ShoogarBear
08-04-2007, 07:46 PM
It's not a single file, it's 99 separate ones.

You could zip them together in a single file and put them on a file sharing site, but for sharing photos I would just use www.picasa.com

Listen, I don't mean to sound like an ingrate.....

BUT STOP GIVING ME TIPS ON HOW TO SEND THE GOTDAMN PICTURES!!! :madrun :madrun :madrun :madrun :madrun I'VE ALREADY UPLOADED THE PICTURES TO THEIR SHUTTERFLY! I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE FVCKING PICTURES!! :madrun I'LL NEVER DO ANYTHING NICE FOR ANYONE AGAIN!!! :flipoff :donkey

I will ask Sequ to try some of your suggestions. Thanks! If you all can think of anything else, please let me know. I really don't want to make daily apologetic pies....

Thanks again everyone!!

The system restore and the ccleaner task remover seem to be the best advise I have read so far in this topic. but since I am here ...... If you want to get past any DOS/CMOS passwords you can always remove the battery plug it back in and roll a penny over the Bios chip, or use a paper clip in the area the picture shows that I have provided. It will make the board reset itself.

sorry I was not any help.

Restore is worth a shot ALWAYS because it's not very painful...

Here is how to turn off your e-mail.....

Start----all programs----run...

type: msconfig ....click ok

go to the win.ini tab....uncheck the mail square..

hit apply...then close..then restart....

Link (http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/stuck_message.htm)

If you attempt to send a message that is too large for your mail server you may be unable to delete it from the Outbox. An error dialog will say that the MAPI spooler has begun sending the message.

First, try setting Outlook offline using the File, Offline menu. Wait about a minute or so or close Outlook and reopen.

If you are unable to delete the message while in offline mode or cannot go into offline mode, you'll need to change your default delivery location.

The following steps are for Outlook 2002/2003, the steps for older versions are the same, although the menus are different..

Add a new PST using the File, New, Outlook Data File menu.

Open the Email Accounts dialog on the Tools menu.

Select view or Change existing email accounts and click Next.

Select the new personal folders file from the Deliver new email to the following location list.

Click Finish and restart Outlook.

Show the folder list, using Ctrl+6 if necessary, and find the old Outbox. Delete the message.

Repeat steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 to restore the original pst as the default delivery location.

Show the folder list and move any new messages from the new pst to the original pst.

Right click on the new folder's name and Choose Close to remove it from your profile.

Read the frigging posts... She already did that. That part is taken care of. Pics are uploaded and everyone has seen them. Now they just need to fix outlook because of the initial big A$$ Email that is clogging up the portal. Now Sunshine has answered that. The only thing remaining is whether Sequ will come back in here again and get this info and actually use it. Oh yeah, and whether or not he has a small spooler. :p:

There are a select few of us coughwomencough who actually READ the post and understand that you already uploaded the pictures to a photo site and really, really want to help you get rid of that email in the outbox.

If what I've read about fixing the problem actually works, it should be fairly easy to get rid of that file in the outbox. That being said, the old adage "easier said than done" might be the case here.

I found this in an article I was reading I thought it might be helpful for the future if you ever have large file to send anyone. Good Luck.
:spin
Move Big Files Across the Internet
It's considered rude--and rightly so--to e-mail someone a file larger than a few megabytes without permission. And you may not be able to anyway, since many ISPs place a cap on message size (often 10MB or less). So what are you to do if you need to send an 18MB, an 80MB, or even an 800MB file to someone? Online services make the task much easier and more elegant than burning a DVD and dropping it in the mail. You have lots of options, and more new services pop up every day. MediaFire.com (http://www.mediafire.com/about.php?type=1) is my favorite, and it's one of the best on the market now. The free service requires no registration, and it allows unlimited maximum file size, unlimited downloads, and multiple simultaneous downloads. It's just about perfect!
The other services below, however, also have certain unique features that may make them more suitable for you.
Files-upload.com (http://www.Files-upload.com) : Handles 300MB files through a Web-based interface without registration; files expire after 45 days. Register, and you get your own FTP subdomain (yourname.files-upload.com) that's accessible with a standard FTP client. It has a 1GB file-size limit.
GigaSize.com GigaSize.com (http://www.GigaSize.com) : Has a 1.5GB file-size limit and stores files for 90 days. A $4 monthly fee gets you a 2.5GB size limit.
Pando.com: Has a 1GB file-size limit, but offers a peer-to-peer plug-in for various e-mail, Web mail, and instant messenger clients, so you don't have to go to the Web site to transfer files.
Xdrive.com (http://www.Xdrive.com) : Gives you 5GB of free storage space, accessible through the Web or a Windows Explorer plug-in that also allows for sharing with others.
