Well, screw that, here are my complaints:
1. haven't dumped Beno,
2. gave away Butler and Scola for nothing to save a few dollars,
3. haven't addressed need for youth or athleticism,
4. where's our SF of the future?

Butler nor Scola were going to bring the athletic SF we've "needed" for 3 years now.

6) People wishing for things that will never happen and complaining about things that aren't going to change.

Well, it is not a complaint but I would still like to see Udoka comming to the Spurs. Neither Barry nor Finley are great on defense, so he would certainly help. Other than that I don't really see a lot of other options for the Spurs.

No, true, but giving both of them away to a division rival to save a few million pisses me off. Butler should have been given early season backup minutes to show something and could always be traded later, and Scola simply should not have been given away. Were his rights expiring? If not, force him to stay in Europe another season if necessary until we get something for him, or at the very least give him to someone in the East with the proviso that they take Beno as well. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on Beno - maybe he's the glue guy, the Sean marks, the Jack Haley for this team - he don't do shit, but people like to have him around... that's the only reason I can imagine to explain why he's still in SA.

Signing Udoka would go a long way to appeasing me though, as he gives us another 3 years to find our young SF.

Yeah. I did want to see Butler play a bit this year and entice some dumb assed GM's into making a trade for him during the season. But then again, his contract wasn't going to get us much anyway.

Ditto on Beno and the lack of an athletic SF but it is really difficult for me to bitch, moan and groan about our team when we just bagged another ring. Anyway the pickins out there didn't seem to fit into the FO financial plans (obviously). The Udoka thing is still floating around as we wait for the FO to pull the trigger as they calculate the lux tax situation. Damn we need to get on with finding Bowen's replacement. The day he loses half a step is the day he's toast. Part of our basic plan is predicated on having a SF as a defensive stopper (Elliott then Bowen). Udoka would fit this mold and be the future at that spot even though he is 30 years old now - I think Bowen was about same age when we signed him back in '03 give or take a year. Also if or when we sign Udoka that could help lengthen Bowen's time in the league - Pop could then manage his minutes and keep him from wearing out. I'm just looking at the age factor and trying to anticipate our future needs. Bowen is an excellent athlete but you can't outrun Father Time. Sooner or later he will catch up to you.

Complaint:

People jobbing the 'resting on our laurels' defense. Obviously - in their opinion - doing well last year predicates chintzy money-only moves and standing pat instead of making moves to improve the team.

Crap off-season. Just crap.

My complaint is that we don't have a future waiting in the "wings" now. We seem to give up on young talent too quickly and only focus on winning now. It's sad...

I'd like to be the first to welcome the Oklahoma City Spurs to their new home in 2012.

All great teams fall sooner or later. You can't have a "future" all the time. LA, CHI, BOS, etc. have all had multiple years in a drought.
