I guess all the talk about Scola's impossible buyout situation has once again been proven wrong.

Meanwhile, forward Luis Scola has completed details of his buyout from Tau Ceramica in Spain and is officially a Rocket. A letter from FIBA, the official world governing body, arrived at the NBA offices in New York on Tuesday night, declaring that Scola is no longer under contract in Europe.

"We had a press conference, we took the photos, but I'm a worrier," Morey said. "It's my job to worry about these things until every detail is complete. But now the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed. Luis is ours."

The Spurs were stupid about this.

The Spurs were stupid about this.

Maybe they were, and maybe they weren't. Me personally, I would have loved to have Scola on the Spurs roster. No doubt he would have helped and he would have made us better. Not to mention that he will make a division rival better. Sucks. But after the Spurs win another NBA championship (and I think they will) the suckage factor will go way down and it won't sting so much.

The Spurs will still keep on winning. The Scola saga is over! And I as Led Zeppelin once said:
“California sunlight - sweet Calcutta rain - Honolulu starbright - the song remains the same.”
