http://www.lequipe.fr/Xml/Basket/Titres/Media/120807_Parker_jpg.jpg

No- I think Tony is asking Rasho to take it easy on him...
JK because France and SLO play each other a lot in European play and Tony has struggled against them at times. I think it's because Rasho knows just where TP is going.

Laughing at Fred Weis is really stupid.
First, Weis is a really funny and cool guy.
Second, Weis has had a quite good career in Europe.
Third, Carter's dunk over Weis isn't really a bad play from Weis but a great one from Carter.

Fred Weis has a knee injury. He has had an injury plagued career but if he is out for the Euro, maybe Mahinmi will be called back in French NT.
If Weis is out, I think that French NT staff will have three solutions :
- Sacha Giffa who has made the whole training with the team but who is a short PF.
- Ian Mahinmi who will bring size but who has missed the training and has never played with French NT.
- Johan Petro who didn't want to be French NT 3rd string center but who could come back given that more playtime will be available for him.

Is Mahinmi ready to play ?
I though he was in the list before an injury made him missed the summer leagues and the NT trainings.....

Mahinmi should be ready to play.
For the French NT, there are two lists : one active list and one waiting list.
If a player from the active list is injured, usually a player from the waiting list is called to take his spot. Players on the waiting list are ready to be called if someone is injured.
When Mahinmi has been injured he has been put from the active list to the waiting list. Badiane, who was on the waiting list, has been put on the active list.
If Weis (a center) is out, a player will be called to take his spot. On the waiting list, there are only two bigmen (Giffa and Mahinmi).
However, there are no rules saying that a player must be on the waiting list to be called in the case of an injury. Petro could be called too even if he isn't on the waiting list.
Edit : If Weis is injured, Giffa will likely be the one called. Giffa has shown good things during friendly games and he should get the spot even if French NT will lack of size in the paint with him.

Badiane had good games and has good size. He is likely to replace Weis in the rotation so a spot can be given to Giffa.
About Petro, Bergeaud didn't like his attitude in Japan and will probably not call him. Moreover Petro didn't prove this season he can be a valuable center.

Badiane had good games and has good size. He is likely to replace Weis in the rotation so a spot can be given to Giffa.
The problem with replacing Weis with Giffa is that French NT will have only 2 centers (Turiaf and Badiane). Foul troubles can happen very quickly for centers.

Weis Gets All-Clear For EuroBasket
22 August 2007
France have confirmed center Frederic Weis will be fit for EuroBasket 2007, despite his recent knee problems.
Weis, who has struggled with cartilage trouble in recent seasons, underwent tests on his knee on Wednesday while his Les Bleus colleagues enjoyed a rest day ahead of this weekend's friendly double-header in Slovenia.
The results were promising for the Bilbao big man, who will return to training with the rest of the squad on Friday.
A statement from the French Basketball Federation read: "He underwent light treatment on Wednesday morning allowing him to resume normal training on Friday. His participation in EuroBasket is not under threat."
The news will come as some relief to Les Bleus coach Claude Bergeaud, who is likely to pick Weis in his starting five for the tournament.
Guard Cedric Ferchaud should also be back in training on Friday after shrugging off his a right knee injury.
France play Slovenia in friendlies in Maribor on Friday and Sunday.
Their EuroBasket campaign begins on September 3.

playing zone will help limit fouls, but it really doesn't help with rebounding.
