50 cent promises to quit if Kanye West outsells him.

Personally, I cant stand both of these factory-made nickelodeon rap guys, but if I had a chance to be rid of one of 'em, I'm all for it.

I was thinking to myself the other day that it would be hillarious if people who hated 50 bought a grip of Kanyes albums and were actually successful in having higher record sales.

But honestly i dont think it will happen. 50 will outsell Kanye.

Hell yeah, I'm all about ridding the airwaves of "50 Cent". One of the worst rappers of the 00's. I'd love to see Kanye's album sell the most, even though I don't like him much either... None the less, somebody who says something like this can't be trusted. Kind of like how Jay-Z went into "retirement", I really doubt 50 would honor his word. It's all a publicity stunt. Oh well right, one can hope.

Kanye is going to easily outsell 50 cent....this is a joke.

I hate Kanye the person, but I gotta admit, even I like his new song "Stronger".

He'd be back with a "comeback" album in two years anyway. Retirement for rappers means nothing.

if you think Kanye is one of those, you don't listen to hip hop much.

Kanye is one of the best producers on the planet.

Lyrically he is getting better, but hes decent.

He is just talking. Publicity stunt is what I think. Trying to get both records to sell.

I'd say hes definitely better than decent, especially in comparison to the quality of rappers out today (like 50 Cent, who can't rap for crap). The only rappers out right now that I can think of off the top of my head that tops Kanye lyrically is Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Eminem (when he tries to rap seriously), Pharoahe Monch, and Nas. There may be a couple others, but Kanye is a pretty damn good rapper.

EDIT: Add Talib Kweli to that list as well.

Presales are much stronger for Kanye.
50's new single is much weaker.

Basically it's the same as fighters talking trash before a PPV event.
More hype=More Pub.

Although Kanye has a line in stronger, that could be one of his best.

"You'll doing anything for a Klondike....But I'll do anything for a Blond Dyke"

Very nice....

Kanye is better than average at rapping, and he makes up for his limits with alot of humor.

Although it's pretty bad when he turns "apologizing" into "apologin" to force it to rhyme with "collagen"

either way, as far as producer/rappers go, he's one of the best. Definitely beats the hell out of Pharrell or Dr. Dre

Don't forget Common, mf doom is better, a lot of Wu members are better, Murs is better, Black Thought (from the roots), immortal technique is better than Kanye lyrically.

Kanye wins the album cover battle for sure. One looks pretty cool and is original, the other is about as stock and unoriginal as they get. Kind of like their music.

I like some of 50's music and some of Kayne's. Moreso 50 though. The problem that I had with 50 cent was a few years back when he and Ja-Rule had their little beef going on and 50 was accusing Ja-Rule of singing in his songs, then guess what you know who turns around and starts doing the same thing...

A year or two ago I would have said the same thing, but 50 overexposed himself big time. I guarantee you, 50 Cent is poised for a HUGE fall. Any credibility those bullet holes in his body gave him went flying out the window with all this attention whoring (plus the fact that he sucks).
