Would he be worth the minimum if he would take it?

After ten years with the Golden State Warriors, Adonal Foyle will be moving on. The team has requested waivers on the veteran center after reaching a contractual buyout agreement. Terms of the agreement are not yet known.

"We will certainly miss Adonal's presence, both on and off the court," Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin said. "However, we think this move is in the best interest of both parties as we move forward. Adonal was a true professional in every sense of the word during his decade-long tenure with the Warriors. We wish him the best as he beings the next phase of his career."

After the Kevin Garnett trade, Foyle had been the third-longest tenured player in the NBA, behind Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant. The Warriors selected Foyle out of Colgate with the eighth overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, but Foyle has struggled in recent years and did not get much playing time under Don Nelson. Foyle is not the mobile big man that Nellie typically uses, leading to paltry numbers for Foyle this past season (2.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.04 block in 10.0 minutes per game). Foyle leaves the Warriors as the all-time leader in blocked shots (1,140).

He couldn't get on the floor any time soon. Oberto will start. Elson has a year in our system and knows what to do. He could play a bigger role on another contender.

Last summer, I would have said yes because I've thought that Spurs needed to have a big center to defend players like Shaq and Yao.
I say now no.
Shaq and Heat aren't a big threat and I don't think anymore that a big center is the best solution to defend on Yao.

For the league minimum he'd be a wonderful IR guy. But I don't know that he'd want to take that role on. In fact, I know he wouldn't want to.

I could see him landing in Boston or Dallas I believe he and AJ have a good relationship. Even Pheonix might take a long look at him.

On a less-related note, this article brings up a big peeve of mine - the lack of loyalty players have these days to the teams and the cities that employ them. Kobe and Duncan are the only other players active today who have played for 10+ years with one team. The number of players demanding trades is outrageous. I mean, hello? You are getting paid millions of dollars, STFU and play. It's not players who should be making decisions as to whether they are a good fit - that's the coach and owner's jobs. An athlete should be able to go out and compete, regardless of where he's playing. The sense of entitlement among pro athletes is just ridiculous.

Wouldn't he make sense on the T-Wolves? If they could move Blount anyway. Or heck, keep both, move Blount to the bench. I think Foyle would be a good compliment to Jefferson. Or how about the Magic next to Howard, off the bench?

Basically about 15 different teams besides us.

If I were a gambling man, I'd wager that Ainge makes him an offer. IIRC, the Celtics have several open roster spots and only one center on the books.

Orlando, Boston will get him.

Kobe's been with LA since 1996. Timmy's been in SA since 1997.

Kobe now has the longest tenure among players in the league by a full year.

Of on-court personnel, Jerry Sloan has the longest tenure in the league, having been Jazz head coach since December 1988. Pop is second (I think), having been Spurs head coach since December 1996. The third longest tenured coach is (surprisingly, I guess) Eddie Jordan who beats out Mike Dunleavy by about 2-3 weeks.
