I guess it depends on what you're into. If you're into military history, my family loved the Nimitz Museum.

I hope the tropical depression doesn't ruin that.

When undecided, just find the nearest titty bar. That's my motto. Last night I was just at the titty bar, doing lines of coke off of some slut's asscrack. I've never felt more alive. I wonder what the the titties look like in Fredericksburg. :lol

I took a trip to Fredericksburg about 8 years ago I guess, and I'm not really an outdoors kinda person but I went hiking around that area and it has to be one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Don't know if you're into that kinda stuff though

Good dining up there.

The Peach Tree is a good place for Lunch: http://www.peach-tree.com/

Engel's Deli is also a great spot for some cheap but delicious German food and drink:
– 320 E. Main, (830) 997-3176
American-German lunch specials, delicious desserts.

Almost any bakery has great sweets and kolaches.

Make sure to try the local brews and wines.

Yeah, Enchanted Rock, a good place. I've been there a lot of times. I like to find that plaque that where it says about the peace treaty that took place between the Comanche and the German settlers in their early history. It's supposed to be the only peace that hasn't been broken in the US.

The climb up to the summit of that granite dome formation is quite challenging, best done early morning and yes, watch out for rattlers!

To me Fredericksburg used to be more shops and crafts but now it is more about food and wine. And definitely go to Enchanted Rock.

Another excellent place to get dessert is Clear River Pecan. They also serve soups and sandwiches there as well.

Still recommend the Brewhaus for german food and beer. In fact I will be there Saturday afternoon with my family. My kids will definitely make a visit to Dooleys; it's an old fashioned five and dime that sells a lot of cheap stuff.

Drive straight through Fredericksburg and head about 40 miles up the road to Llano. Find a BBQ place called "Coopers" and eat there. It's the $$$$$$$ x10
