Did you talk to any players yet?

I talked to Tim Duncan, while he was working out

SpursFans are so lucky.

If the Spurs add Mahinmi this year, that would give them 3 solid 5-man squads for training camp.

Oberto..........Elson..........Mahinmi
Duncan.........Horry..........Bonner
Bowen..........Barry..........Williams
Finley...........Ginobili........Udoka
Parker...........Vaughn.......Udrih

As mentioned before, not necessarily that exact depth chart, but you get an idea.

SpursFans are so lucky.Yeah, that's just sick.

While Beno is on vacation to recover from riding the bench, Tim Duncan is working on his game. There's a reason why Duncan is going to go down as one of the all-time greats.

I've noticed that just about every FA signing we get...they all say that when asked if they met anyone yet...

Yeah, Duncan, he was working out. Well Duncan was doing sprints while I was signing my contract...I saw Duncan as he was heading into the practice facility.

The fact of the matter is, the hardest working player on this team is also the best player on this team...and that's a big huge reason for this run...not just because it makes Duncan better, but because it shows the players that come here for a ring what Tim Duncan and championships are all about. It shows them from what it's all about from the first second they step foot into the SpursDomain.

Anyway...back to Udoka, he even carries himself in the media like Bruce...he's got that same kind of edge(hopefully he's funnier than Bruce when hosting Championship parade rallies).

It's going to be interesting to see just how much better this team is defensively...provided Bowen continues to beat time.

It'd be funny if Duncan was like the biggest slacker in the world and never really does crap in the offseason but Pop calls him up whenever the Spurs are bringing someone in to sign :lmao

Pop: Just gimme 20 seconds while he's walking up the stairs Timmy

CIA at it's finest :smokin

Yeah, it is kinda weird that Duncan is ALWAYS at the practice facility whenever the Spurs bring in anyone to sign a contract. Like when Barry came to sign his contract, he said that he saw Duncan practicing defensive slides :lol

I think that Duncan's work ethic over the last couple years has gone through the roof . . . but Pop probably also gives him a little heads up on when new players will be coming to the practice facility.

Isn't Duncan's house 5 minutes away from the practice facility? Didn't they deliberately build it by his house or something like that? Talk about resourceful.

It's been very clear over the years that Duncan has a lot of appeal to players in the NBA. There are a lot of great players in th NBA, but not all of of them are as widely respected as Tim Duncan. His work ethic and humility are the big reasons for that respect.

Interesting to note Marcus Williams was at the practice facility. Would he be working out there late in Aug if he wasn't going to be coming back as our 15th man, donut-bringing IR fodder?

I'm a lot more optimistic if he's at the practice facility working. He probably knows it's the only thing that keeps him out of Austin.

On the subject of Duncan, didn't someone here say they saw him and he just "happened to be at the airport" on the day Bonner came to town?

Yea, I'm sure it's more Pop wanting the new guy to see that Tim leads by example and is busting his ass in the gym in the offseason so the new players will get motivated as well.

maybe the Spurs front office is going to sign the marcus williams and groom him with Bowen and Ime. That would be awesome to be able to have them show him the ropes.

Spurs aren't in the driver seat with Marcus Williams. They can say him that he isn't ready and should go in Europe or in NBDL (if it is allowed) but if he says that he want to try to play in nba, they must give him a contract or they will lost him for nothing.

I don't see Williams who is a NCAA sophomore drafted very early in the second round pick, going in Europe or in NBDL.

Spurs have too a roster available for Williams. He won't take someone spot.

Yea, I agree. Like it or not, it looks like Marcus Williams will make the team next season. But he won't be making just a ton of money and his contract can be severed fairly easily. Frankly, if there was ever a hope for him to make it then being with the team was probably his best bet. Considering that we don't have a roster crunch anymore, I think I can probably live with that.

Please don't stay Marcus Williams...we hate you. We're going to hate you more when you actually play (if that's what you want to call what you do on the court).

There's a 95% chance Williams at least gets invited to camp. I'll be interested to see what kind of contract he ends up getting. Will the Spurs fully or only partially guarantee his first season? I would hope for a partial in case he really bombs in training camp, but recently high second round picks have gotten guaranteed contracts more and more.

Yes, because he's trying to make the team.
