Arkansas isn't playing Texas this year.

Look. McFadden, best back or player in the country against McCoy, considered the best QB in the nation. Majority pass against consistent run.

If I had to predict, I'd say 38-31 Texas. Hogs defense just runs out of gas in the 4th. But that wouldn't change DMac getting around 200 and a few scores.

:p:

See you in Bud Walton Arena. You'll get to meet all our returning starters that should have won last year, a lot of you guys even admitted that.. and coach Pelphrey who was under Donovan and played for Kentucky. He has done a good job recruiting the second half of Heath finally getting canned. In which Heath is at South Florida now, hahahaha sad. Plus freshman of the year Patrick Beverly, fresh off dominating the USA jr team. Going to be a good game. :toast

I'll be in Fayettevill on Nov. 3 for the game against the Ol' Ball Coach... that should be a good one... hopefully the QB issues at Arkansas are settled by then.

Arkansas would destroy texas this year. I see a 2-3 loss season easily in reach for Texas this year which bodes horribly because it will only get more difficult next season.

Shipley, Limas, and now Billy Pittman are all injured.

Limas wrist is fucked up and he will not be the same all season. Billy just fucked up his shoulder and shoulder injuries are always serious. Shipley is just flat out fragile white dude.

Texas coming into this season with the best receiving core in the nation and its already paper thin before a single game.

Sherrod Harris is out with a strained MCL, so we have a true freshman in Chiles at the backup QB spot.

Texas is also fielding the youngest most inexperienced offensive line in the mack brown era. The future looks bleak.

The roster is thinning out at record pace and we haven't even had a single play in a real game yet....If Jamaal Charles goes down at any point this season then the 2007+2008 seasons could set this program back like 10 years..

UT has been cursed ever since Ramonce Taylor got caught with a brick and a gun.

Limas is the only receiver we will fill the effects of if he is down. Shipley just fast and Pittman was never on the same page as Colt last season.

Didn't you say we would have 2 or 3 losses last season based on talent alone? You actually probably said 4 or 5. Lo and behold Texas was on there way to the conf championship and BCS bowl game before Colt got hurt. Not to mention all the other season ending injuries we had to our starters.

Would if of mattered? We are fucked either way if Colt goes down, not nearly as much as last season since we have someone who can run.

Greg Davis finds a way for the offensive line to be complete shit anyways.

I doubt that, Chris O. will be more of an impact back this year then Charles

It'll take a completely perfect storm for this team to compete for a NC, but they aren't nearly as bad off as some here think. Sweed and Pitman will be fine for TCU and the O Line will be solid. If a real play caller could unplug Davis' headset and start calling plays behind the scenes the team could be stellar.

The defensive secondary is the question, but I think the D line and LB will attack the QB more this year rather than play reactionary defense. They left people out to dry last year with that shit.

The secondary was not nearly as bad as what people made it out to be. The top 3 leading tacklers last season were in the secondary, 2 of them safteys. That isn't a good thing, Michael Griffin has 1 less TFL then Frank Okam..... Texas had shitty pass rush, Okam and Lokey are both run stoppers, Tim Crowder was a run stopper and Brian Robinson was average at both.

In that case... it's good you guys won't have to see DMac, or Felix Jones for that matter. :toast

I was told quite a bit of that was due to the scheme, but I don't know how much. Hopefully that was the case and they'll attack the QB more this time around. I do remember not getting nearly the rush as in '05.

^CBF always freaks out with UT football, he just needs to calm down some! :lol

We'll be fine at WR, Sweed will be back and healthy for the season opener, Pittman from what I've heard (inside source), will be fine as well, just a stinger in the shoulder area. Shipley is also a little dinged up, but will be ready to go for the opener.

My area of concern is the secondary, I think the O line will gell together but I just don't have a read on that secondary unit yet. I do think there is plenty of talent back there and I also think Akina will do a bang up job as D coordinator.

Stay away from the pills and the razor blade CBF!!!

I agree, but Pittman's experience and durability >>>>>>>>>> Shipleys

You got me there, I am a habitual pessimist, and never try to hide it, so what?

They said [limas] will be back for the first game, and is taking snaps already in practice.
If you read the details, every reporter who asked him what was up with his wrist noticed he was very unsure and almost nervous about saying he was okay, as if he was covering up its true nature.

Would if of mattered? We are fucked either way if Colt goes down, not nearly as much as last season since we have someone who can run.
True, True, but I'd rather have had Harris back up Colt during hte KState game, and surely for this next season as well.

Greg Davis finds a way for the offensive line to be complete shit anyways.

You have a point. When Tech fields 5 receivers and Chizik stayed with 4-3, you know our linebackers are going to get chodebloaded and those DB's will be making the tackles.
