Houston Trying To Deal Lucas III
August 19, 2007 - 8:33 am
Houston Chronicle -
The Rockets are still trying to trade John Lucas III and will trade away Bob Sura's contract or buy it out. The rest of their roster — 17 others when you eventually add second-round pick Carl Landry — will likely be in training camp for new head coach Rick Adelman to check out before the paring process begins. Sarver doesn't acquire contracts. If Lucas III plays for free, he might consider it.

he's a ball hogging midget... find plenty of clones of him at the local street court.

Whatever happened to Hollis Price? How did Lucas make the league and Price didn't?? Oh, I forgot, Lucas II.

Actually its JL3.

As a former Cowboy, I would love to have JL3. However, his defense lets in more than a whale net.

Price can't even catch on in euro B league.

I would think Beno and JL3 are a wash. Both are really nice shooters and both can distribute well. Neither has a lick of defense. JL3 has always been very clutch but was considered somewhat of a ball hog. Beno is prone to simply losing his mind and forgetting which color to throw the ball to.

Perhaps both need a new start somewhere else. JL3 is certainly not any WORSE than Beno, and he make a hell of a lot less money (JL3 makes 770,610 this year with a TO for 826,269 next while Beno makes 1,747,095 this and a QO of 2,603,172 next).

Dollar for dollar, I would MUCH rather have JL3 ride the pine than Beno.

Additionally, the only reason JL3 got a roster spot in Houston was that his daddy works player development for them. Yes, I know, they needed a backup PG in the worst way, however he wouldn't have gotten a second glance if daddy wasn't there.

I don't know what his daddys role is now with the latest turnovers there, but if he still has some pull there I doubt he gets traded to the Spurs. Lest we forget, Lucas feels like he was forced out as coach of the Spurs in 1994 when they won 55 games and lost in the 1st round to Utah.
