Something really bothers me. Can somebody, who speaks his mind against any government, really be non-partisan?

So why the BS? Stephen A. Smith is as Republican as a Negro can be. He is gone. He even trashed Jesse Jackson?!?

Is the media finally as biased as they used to be, when a reporter could go in the face of an administration? If the media was puzzled before, now they are just stupid.

I was curious what Zeleni meant, so an easy query led me to believe that this is the same Stephen A. Smith who is (was) a sportswriter for The Philadelphia Inquirer. On August 23, the Inquirer demoted him back to the position of general assignment reporter. A list of his recent articles are here:

Articles by Stephen A. Smith (http://www.philly.com/inquirer/columnists/stephen_a_smith//)

Some selected articles:

It's far too easy and too early to condemn Vick (http://www.philly.com/inquirer/columnists/stephen_a_smith/20070720_Stephen_A__Smith____Its_far_too_easy_and_ too_early_to_condemn_Vick.html)

to explain...

Who would be the people who were the black Republicans?
It is quite easy to point them out in showbusiness...

1.The entire show Fresh Prince. A rich black family who deals with a suburban rapper with an urban past. Rappers with stupid lyrics but a wholesome business.

2.Really annoying black people creating controversy. That is Stephen A.Smith. The guy is more known for critising Jesse Jackson than about his hate for Rasho, the kind giant. I could cite others, but he is so obvious. He even had a show.

After 9/11 you had a conservative media. Now we can really talk about liberals. Even the guy with his own show was demoted to a guy without a column. Now that is a political change, if there is one.

Sports are a great specimen of the media, since they are driven mostly by enthusiasm.

"Can somebody, who speaks his mind against any government, really be non-partisan?"

Is this really a question for you or just rhetorical?

I think both parties suck, and suck badly. There is so much that wrong with America that NOBODY in Legis or Exec has addressed. None of them have ANY balls except those in the hands of the corps and big private donors.

If dubya and his Repug accomplices had actually run the govt competently this past 6+ years, even with conservative policies, I'd be OK. And I'm just not talking about the incompetence and dishonesty of starting fraudulently wars. I'm talking about dubya total lack of progress in advancing American civilization, while doing NOTHING else but enriching the corps and super-rich.

Does that make me a partisan Dem or a liberal demon? fuck no.

I'll be watching the next Dem admin to see if it reverse all the shit dubya has been smearing the govt and America with.

I believe Ron Paul makes a hell of a lot of sense. Too much sense to ever get elected President.

Two questions come to mind with the above statement.
1. What conservative policies are you referring to?

2. Advancing American civilization. What does that
mean.

I would be truly interested if you would answer these
two questions. Your views in most cases are strictly
socialist in nature.

The job of any elected official is to stay in office. Period. If an elected official is allowed to take money, the job of said elected official is to stay in office and make money, period.

Either way, said official's job is to stay in office. Said official does this by listening to his constituents, who have the power to vote said official OUT of office.

Don't forget Florida 2000, every vote counts. Period.

(Granted, there needs to be some voting reform, but that is another issue entirely, and is an interesting topic for another thread).

If you feel that your needs, as an informed American voter, are not being met, let your representative know. They are more accommodating than you realize.

If you feel that your representative is doing the right thing on a given subject, let them know, so as to counter someone else who disagrees.

Be active in your government! Write letters. Meet with your members, if possible. This goes for all levels of government.

Like the infomercials say: The biggest obstruction to our freedom is ourselves. Exercise your right to voice your opinion and vote.

Oh, Gee!!
