Have any of you ever used GIMP The GNU Image Manipulation Program Version 2.2.

If so did you like it. I downloaded it today (freeware) and
it has lots of bells and whistles and one of those programs
I think needs lots of learning. :dizzy

yeah, GIMP is a real pain in the ass, it has nearly all the functions of Photoshop, but it's a real mess in terms of interface. I'm still looking for a decent freeware image manipulation program, but the best I can recommend is to pony up $90 for Photoshop Elements.

I used it for a few months while using Linux. It's definitely useable, but it's still not a Photoshop replacement (is anything really?). For most things, it'll do just fine, but it may take more work, especially if you're used to certain tools in PS that aren't available in GIMP.

Try IrfanView It is a freeware program, it is fairly simple
to use in most cases. But the GIMP looked like you could
do more with it. Below is the link for IrfanView if you
want to take a look.

After you download the print shop pro 10, it has many programs to use. you just need to install the photo shop pro to do all your picture modifications.

Run across another imaging software program today. It is
freeware and looks pretty good.

It's like telling someone from 1998 that dial up is out. they just don't seem to get it at first.
