Actually Slovenia defended Tony well. Dragic is only 21, is quite quick, and did a nice job on Tony.

Rasho 6/11; 12 points; 7 rebounds; 1 assist and 1 block in 23 minutes.

I watched the whole game on our national TV.

As teams meet in the euro championship both coaches provided playingtime for all the players and it seemed to me as several French players didnt play their 100%.

Our guys played more seriously as they were infront of the home crowd. But we still lost so this worries me a bit. :pctoss

Anyways a few observatrions you guys might fight interesting:

-cant really comment much on TP as he did not play his 100%... he got stopped defensively by Dragic so his fg% is low; but this was a practice game for TP... so lets wait a month to see how it goes when the real thing is around

-Lakovic shot well, but if he would be pressed by a bigger player he would start turning the ball over; he lacks physical strength... but played well none the less

-Pietrus and Weis both got really frustrated

-Smodis is an NBA player... well the ones that follow him know this for a long time; our by far the best player

-Slovene coach sucks in my opinion; things like having a play for Rasho to go 1 vs 1 are really a low % plays; we all know Rasho can be a solid defensive player but in offense he shoudlnt do more than lay things in from assists

-this should interest you.... as prospects

all 3 Slovene youngsters Vidmar, Klobucar and Dragic showed they can match well with NBA players

ESPECIALLY GORAN DRAGIC! He really cowered TP well and there were even signs of frustration with TP. He matched his speed and predicted a few of his drives well.

On the offensive end he showed quite a few flashy moves, dribbles, (stolen ball from TP), etc. Really has a huge upside. He is fast and skilled and still very young.

Future NBA player. He is going to play in Union Olimpija this year so we should see him play a lot on the biggest stage in Europe.

p.s.

Domen Lorbek is a really good spot shooter. 22 Year old player.

A really bad game. The best players were Diawara and Boris Diaw.

Slovenian side played some horrible offense while setting their plays. We really wanted to draw fouls and throw as many good three-point shots. And we really sucked at that in two huge shooting slumps. Funny thing is that TP was one of the slowest on the court and not at all agressive.

Dragič never really allowed TP to speed up. Lakovič on the other hand felt a little rusty with setting picks. We really missed Čapin.

I liked how Klobučar and Smodiš handled themselves on the court. We were worse than France but mostly b/c of the limitation of the playmakers. That will change so there is nothing to worry about.

this one is hard to deny !
Smodis is real good we know that by now in europe.
And I read someone mentioning that Diawara was our best player today. You know that something is really wrong in france when such a scrub makes a showing.

well.... Diaw and Parker didnt put 100% out there

they took this as a friendly, practice game (and right so... no need to risk injuries with diving for loose balls)

other France and Slovene players that dont have guaranteed play time played at their max
(like Diawara and a bunch of Slovenian younger players)

Diawara is not a scrub. He is a strong defender and a shooter. He is a sort of French Bowen. He can defend any position but the center (of course he can't defend on the fastest PG and the big PF).

LOL, yup jacking shots all game long is really being like bowen, such BS should just get him on the end of the bench.

??? he shot 100% against Slovenia
2/4 vs. Czeh republic
4/8 vs Portugal (3/5 3pt)
This is not exactly "jacking shot"

Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about !
sure he did hit his shots today, but everytime he touches the ball on offense he shoots... how many time do you see him finding an open man in a game? yup that's it NEVER. Diawara = Ballhog
.

You are probably right but I am sure Bergeaud asked him to do so. It is not Diawara job to find the open man. While he make those shot he is usefull.

France had the worse 3pt shooting % in Japan. For once we have 2 shooters in Diawara (defense + shoot) and Ferchaud (pure shooter with no D) we should not complain too much.

I'm not really complaining, Diawara is not a starter... but as bad as Ferchaud is on D on offense he moves more try to set screens and shoots when OPEN. :spin

They are still keeping score and stats like a real game so it really isn't much different from yesterday's friendly game.

Except that there is no attendance for this game and players plays with less intensity than in a friendly game.
This game is even less meaningful than a friendly game.
