the fact that the Spurs organization doesn't put the word out on the Silverstars is embarassing. the front office people (according to the express-news) didn't even fly out to Sacramento to see game one of this series.

You should do what she says and watch a movie together like Sense and Sensibilities or Jane Eyre.

Solid D

You could also ask her if she'd like to do some scrapbooking together.

Two words: tax writeoff.

Why should the Spurs front office fly out to see a Silver Stars game anyway? They have nothing to do, in any real sense other than a tax write off, with the Spurs. That's like bitching because they won't go on a road trip with the Rampage.

Tickets are really, reallly cheap. Where it costs $250 for the NBA finals is like $15.

It also keeps the AT&T in use- with parking $$, concession $$...

I don't know what makes you more of a pussy....

The fact that you allow your wife to not let you go to a game

OR

The fact that you want to go to a WNBA game.

One more step toward the continued pussification of males everywhere.

What do you mean the Spurs organization doesn't put the word out?

The Silver Stars have their own publicity/media department that handles that.

And why would the Spurs front office people fly to see the Silver Stars game?

They haven't used the upper level at all this season?

In their first season in S.A. I went to a lot of games where the upper level was used.

It comes to my email because I'm signed up for the Spurs info.

Hell, I get all the whole AT&T schedule.

Really-- I have not been this season nor did I go the first one, but the year I went it was very, very empty. The team also really, really sucked then.

I just checked- the cheapest ticket price is $9 and you are still on the lower level- section 115.

In the first year, they used the upper deck but just on the sides, not on the "endzones." That year, the attendance much higher at first before they starting playing so bad (some games had well above 10K). But I haven't been there in a long while.

Anyone know what the attendance averages were this season? I'm guessing decent since they were winning.

http://www.womensbasketballonline.com/wnba/wnbattendance.html

Here are this year's numbers and the historical numbers for the Silver Stars:

2007: 7,569 (HI -- 10,262; LOW -- 4,070)
2006: 7,397 (HI -- 10,634; LOW -- 5,998)
2005: 7,944 (HI -- 9,772; LOW -- 5,508)
2004: 8,395 (HI -- 10,506; LOW -- 6,417)
2003: 10,384 (HI -- 15,593; LOW -- 7,692)

You're also right that they were getting 10,000+ on a somewhat regular basis in 2003 -- they actually drew 11,000+ on 7 of 17 home dates that season. The Silver Stars had another 3 games with attendance of more than 9,000 that year, too; so they had 10 of 17 home games with the building at least half full.

I think the lower level holds about 8000- right?

Sundays game had listed attendance of 5735.

There has been at least one game where they used it that I know of... vs Houston on Military Night, I believe that was toward the end of July.

Why will your wife not let you go to a basketball game? If she's that controlling, you should consider divorce. Men need to stand up to controlling and abusive women.

It only took me one pre-season game vs. Connecticutt to tell y'all them Silver Stars would be making the play-offs this year; Et voilá!

What impresses me most is that they are doing it almost all year without the player who impressed me most back in May; Erin Buescher.

Now go give Phoenix a hard push out of bounds galls!

At the last regular season game against Phoenix, some Phoenix fans sitting behind us tried to get us kicked out of the game by lying to an usher that we were cursing. Maybe to Phoenix fans, calling Taurasi "a thug" is cursing. Hate being lied about. Phoenix fans in general are all whiners and poor sports.

Becky Hammon is up for MVP and won the 2007 Assist title. She's a hybrid shooting/point guard. She can slash through the lanes and finish at the rim better then anyone in the league. She usually goes through 2 or 3 people and still finishes. She is also responisble for some of the most amazing no look, behind the back passes I've ever seen. But she's primarily a 3 point specialist. She shoots NBA 3's on a very consistant basis. She shot 5 3's last night and I think had a game high of 7 3's against Houston. She's 5'6 on a good day is only about 135 lbs. and YEAH...SHE'S HOT!!!! You guys have been missing some good stuff!
