Jumaine Jones scores 25, making seven of eight three-point tries, and Chris Mihm also has 25 points as Lakers beat Magic, 105-98...

We razzed him a little bit because he missed a wide-open jumper last game and he came back tonight and more than redeemed himself for it," Bryant said. "We have an understanding on this team that if you are open and have a good shot, just shoot it. Everybody knows that and everybody has confidence in themselves to be able to knock those shots down and he got on a nice roll."

Although this cake is still being baked, this Lakers team can be scary, soooo many weapons, you never know who is going to catch fire on any given night...

Coach Rudy T is just what The Good Dr. Buss Ordered! :elephant

... was the ONLY way LA won that game. A deep bench player averaging less than 6 PPG blows up and hits 6 3's in one qtr, LA wins by 7 pts.

Jones hasn't been that good from the arc over the course of his short career, however, he is shooting extremely well this year. He ranks 11th in the NBA (.438) from there.

"good from the arc over the course of his short career"

huh? mid 30's is good?

"He ranks 11th in the NBA (.438) from there."

... but only including this "career qtr" of 6 last night in 2nd qtr.

Because he plays so few minutes, and takes so few 3's (the lowest qty of 3's attempted in the Top50), one good night jumped his 3 %age by 16 pts, from a bad low of 29% (7-24) well below his career avg, not in Top 50, to 45% (14-32), 11th.

He made as many 3's last night, 7, as he had all season before last night. Let's decide if he's a legit "good" 3 shooter by looking at his %age for 100 or 150 attempts, like in Feb or Mar.

If anything JJ has been one of our better defenders. Forget his outside shooting im more impressed with his defensive tenacity. During 4th quarters he is taking playing time away from Caron Butler. He's reliable for us.

Read the post boutons. I said he hasn't been that good.

Look it's an anomoly....I'm glad he got hot because he kept us in the game. I don't count on that production every game..B Cook was 0-3 so that balances it out. The Lakers are playing pretty well, but their O sucks as much as their D in stretches of the game. I'm surprised they're 12-8 actually.

Jumaine has thrived in Rudy’s up tempo offense...He has great court vision and great athleticism...He gels with Kobe, Lamar, Chuckey & Mihm...

Walton & Slava have been struggling...If Jumaine can stay healthy he looks to become a solid player...
