I Grew Up In San Antonio And Since Then Have Travel Around A Bit And Noticed That San Antonio Doesn't Really Get That Much Respect. I'm Just Glad To See Our City Growing.

Hip-hop is pretty horrible right now, so you're right I don't listen to it much. But when I do I definitely don't listen to the junk on the radio. I have travelled as well, and S.A. is usually held in high esteem as a beautiful and friendly city in my experience. A lot of people outside of S.A. and Texas don't follow the Spurs, but that doesn't hurt my feelings any.

With very few exceptions, I think rap music is garbage. Some performers like NWA, Public Enemy, Tupac, Jay-Z, Eminem are or were good...but the rest of what's out there is a bunch of amateurs blurting out nonsense. Free-style rapping by wannabees is horrific. The best rappers have something genuine to say or at the very least are fantastic wordsmiths. Rant over.

The only rap you hear nowadays must be the songs that come on the radio, which isn't a bad thing. But you can't really generalize like that if you don't listen to the genre. There are plenty of conscious rappers out right now.
