Why bother? Manu's just going to flop, whine, and cheat his way through the game, stealing the focus from the 2nd Comings of D-Rob, Bill Russell and The Big Dipper. That's how the Spurs roll. <End Sarcasm>

Thats ok, Yao's waiting for him on November 3rd. Get ready to be owned Oden :smokin

Rox vs, Portland, Nov. 3

Two of the league's prominent big men -- Houston's Yao Ming and Portland's Greg Oden -- will be meeting for the first time in the Rockets' home opener. Yao has asserted himself as the NBA's best big man. Oden, meanwhile, is an up-and-coming talent. Like Yao, he was the top overall pick in the NBA Draft and enters the league loaded with hype. We expect Yao to get the better of the rookie in their initial meeting, but this could be the first in a series of great matchups between the two centers.

The one thing these photos have in common is that you don't actually see Oden's feet off the ground in either of them. You can see one foot in the second picture, but not both. The reason? Because he's standing on a stool. My sources tell me that his knees are entirely shot. He'll be lucky to ever play a single minute in the league. But the Blazers are hiding this fact by carefully crafting photos with teammates blocking the view of the stool he's standing on so they can sell season tickets. Kind of like all the old photos of FDR standing show him with a hand on a conveniently placed rail or post.

I'm just sorry to see such an intelligent person as tlong fall victim to the hoax. In six months you'll be begging to trade him for Beno.

Has Oden realized that he won't be getting 10 fouls to use on Tim Duncan (even though he'd need every damn one of them!)?
Welcome to the NBA, youngster.
You'll be getting taught a lesson by the best professor in the business!

You're saying the ball is on the way back down from there? Why wouldn't Oden just catch it since it's going to be 3 feet short anyway? It's just barely out of the shooter's hand. It's a block.

You're setting yourself up for major disappointment if you're expecting Oden to show dominance in his first season (especially in the WC). Give him a couple of seasons.

And I notice you still can't actually see his feet off the ground, thanks to carefully placed teammates. The evidence is piling up that the Blazers drafted damaged goods and are desperate to hide it.

TLong who's your favorite Blazer of all time? I'll assume it's Drexler you think Oden will surpass Drexler by winning an NBA championship? IMO He's gonna leave after a couple of years with the Blazers or get into some legal trouble.

Tim plays a lot of center -- and there's little doubt that Tim Duncan qualifies as a "big man" in today's game. Saying that Yao is the best big man in the game, in that sense, is ridiculous -- not that Yao isn't good; but Tim is better.
