Stars make a huge comeback late late in the fourth and tie the game 100-100. With 2 seconds left a bogus non-foul is called which sends Phx to the line and leaves the Silver Stars fucked. FYI, Becky Hammon is my new idol. :spin

Beck Hammon hits an NBA three.

Mercury inbound the ball, silver star player backs away from said mercury player mercury player slips, they call a foul on silver star's player with 2.0 seconds left.

The PBP announcer says "The refs call a phantom foul"

Easily one of the worst calls I've seen in my years of watching basketball.

Almost as bad as the jump ball foul on Avery Johnson vs Kevin Johnson in 1996.

Silver Stars made a miraculous comeback - Hammon hit a 3 with a couple seconds left. Then Crossley got called for a foul (which they reviewed but was phantom) when Phoenix was coming back up court. The player slipped while spinning away from her. Phx hit both FT's and won.

The 14K Silver Stars fans did a good job booing at the end :lol

Becky Hammon is not only a great player, but one of the hottest athletes nowadays.

Im gonna have to slip Melissa a hundy and try and get her to send Becky to a GTG for us :lol

Unless Becky is still doing sideline reporting for ESPN.

I'll give it to her .. not just her bad ass performance on the court. But she was MAAAAAAAAAAAD when she walking off. Instead of saying the traditional good game crap, she said, "They stole this one. They stole this." :lol

Next home game for the Stars if they some how miraculously win the 2 games in Phoenix, is Game 1 of the Finals.

No more home games.

To answer some questions...

Kevin Brock does PA for the Silver Stars (he's also Big Kev, the arena host for the Spurs... as well as a dear old mentor of mine).

Yes, the 14K was a true 14K tonight. Yes, the refs had to be escorted and were not looking up at all, but nobody even came close to being unclassy and throwing things or the like. They were yelling loudly and booing like crazy, though.

That was a no-call. That simple. It's the playoffs, there was no intentional contact and Shanna didn't even hold her ground on the "collision." No call. Overtime.

And you know what, the Silver Stars got a hell of a lot of new fans tonight with the way they played and the drama of the game. Plus, 102-100?!? That's an NBA score.

The refs fucked us last night, plain and simple.

LOL. Me and my roommate's munchkin were yelling "YATA!" when Becky hit that last 3 to tie. (for those who don't remember/know, that's what Hiro shouted after successfully teleporting to New York early in the series).

ICYDK, "Yatta!" roughly translates to "I did it!" in Japanese.

Oh, Gee!!

geezus... she knocks the girl over as soon as she starts dribbling...

memo to basketball fans, you can't bump, push, knock over the dribbler in the backcourt... wtf? that's an automatic foul...

ICYDK, "Yatta!" roughly translates to "I did it!" in Japanese.

It's actually only a sentence fragment. "Yatta" itself means something like completion or success, and the subject is supposed to be understood (for Hiro it was watashi (I)). In the case of me and the munchkin, it was konojora (they f.).

I'm ashamed I forgot the mini-tsu in the romaji spelling.

I just saw the replay and it wasn't that bad of a call. It was more bad judgment by the Silver Stars player.

With two seconds to go, the other team with no timeouts and inbounding under their own basket, there's no way you even put a ref in the position to make a call. First of all, the Silver Stars player didn't give the other player room to catch the ball and turn around. That alone can be whistled for a foul. But then on top of it to take a wild swipe at the ball was an even worse idea. Even if the swipe is successful, there's nothing good that could have come out of it.

It looks like there was no contact on the play but even so, there were multiple defensive mistakes on the play. In that situation, you let the player shoot from three-quarters court. You don't contest the catch, dribble or shot other than just standing there with your hands up.

Tough way to lose but hopefully they can go to Phoenix and win two on their homecourt and make Phoenix hate San Antonio even more. I'm not a WNBA fan but can't start letting Phoenix think they can win a playoff series against San Antonio.

I just Googled Becky Hammon. She's actually attractive. When did the WNBA start getting attractive women to play?
