Spread wasn't covered, but KSU got totally obliterated in a spectacular collapse. Beautiful to watch.

As a HUGE kstate fan, i just wana break down and cry right now. im sure kstate spur feels the same. we had them on the ropes. 13-9 with 5 minutes left. penalties and our o-line killed us. i blame this one on the coaches. we have to put more people on the line. when we have blockers, freeman can pick apart the secondary.

shame that we couldn't play nevada today instead.

never up by as few as 2 possessions, so don't know why you would consider it a 'spectacular collapse'. there was also extremely favorable facemask (when the player was tackled by the shoulder pad) and roughing the kicker - that prolonged the final drive - calls that went auburn's way in the 4th quarter.

but I'm not blaming the officials (although I am struggling to come up with a single close call that didn't go auburn's way), the Cats had an opportunity and couldn't get a defensive stop or a left tackle block when the game was on the line.

it was a tough loss to take. but it's nice to have a young team that can go on the road with a fairly new coach and not get beat 70-7. but that's just me...

Indeed. The LT was getting beat the entire last 5 minutes and they did NOTHING to help him. Instead of putting a RB on the left side for blocking, they put him on the right and send him on a delayed route...

Shame you couldn't play Nevada. Hmm.

KSU Next Two opponents: vs San Jose State, vs Missouri State
NEB Next Two opponents: @ defending ACC champions Wake Forest, vs #1 USC

Any Questions?

It was a spectacular collapse because Freeman "The Power of One" had everything going for him. All he would have to do is hold onto the ball to win the game. A single first down would of ran enough time off the clock and gotten a punt deep enough in Auburn territory where the defense could take care of the game. Oh wait, he can't even do that in a pressure situation. Pretty sad when instead of blaming the person that can't hold onto the ball, you mention the officials having "favorable" calls. That's almost as bad as blaming a basketball game on the officials.

And congrats on having a new coach, that didn't install a drastically new offense, with players that were recruited for a completely different style of play, and not getting beat 70-7 the first year. The difference is, Nebraska won the North and went to the Cotton Bowl, despite all this, within 3 years. Is KSU going to do the same or are they stuck at the Texas Bowl and losing to SUNJ while "The Power of Freeman" and Prince are in town?

ye-ah, Prince did install a drastically different offense. technically, Snyder did run an offense similar to this one...back in 1996.

and i'm well aware that your schedule gets tougher (although wake doesn't look to be the same team that they were last year), but it wasn't yesterday. i don't believe in moral victories, but i do find it odd that you watched a team in which half of the starters were newcomers/underclassmen outplay Auburn at Jordan-Hare for 57 minutes, and see that as something as worthy of talking shit about.

personally, i'd be more worried about the 4 or 5 picks that Keller (aka the second coming) was trying to throw yesterday, but that's me...

Now that we are a day later and things have calmed down, I think a buddy of mine said it best when he said that despite being 0-1, the game did more good than harm to program.

Good exposure, outplayed one of the best $EC programs on their homefield for 57 minutes, no major injuries, and multiple places where a single break/call/better execution would have changed the outcome - something that couldn't have been said in any of the 6 losses last year.

While the o-line and running game will have to improve for this team to take the next step, other than texas, there isn't another defense of Auburn's caliber on the schedule.

Freeman looked really good, but he did against Texas aswell. Seems like he just doesn't care unless it's on a national stage. Kstate wins if the o-cord noticed the LT getting the crap beat out of him and moves a RB to the left to help block.

OR...

he was a frosh who played like a frosh last year. He actually played better against Colorado (where he was almost perfect) and Okie Lite - in two games that weren't hyped - than he did Texas last year.

It will be interesting (and possibly fun) to watch his progression as he gets more comfortable in the system. Yesterday was a game where he didn't play great, yet he was still effective at times, and that couldn't be said at any point last season.

vs. getting completely bent over AT HOME on national television in what was supposed to be 'the program has arrived' game.

better than last week. creampuff opponent - but still the most points scored by the Cats since the 64-0 KU game in 2002.

Time to take down Texas right? :lol
Let's do it!
Texas looked very human vs the marshmellow they played today.

need to seriously cut down on the penalties - and get a few guys in the secondary healthy over the bye week. outside of that, the team should be ready for the horns - whatever that means.

central florida is not a marshmallow opponent in the least. UT should have won comfortably, but CF is not a pushover team.
