Hello Everyone,
This is my first post to ST. I have been an avid reader of the forum for the last four or five years. Thanks to Kori, TimVP, and all the regulars for keeping me entertained.
I have followed the Spurs for thirty years - I'm now a middle aged guy with a little perspective, I guess. With all of the playoff frustrations I've seen over the years, never in my wildest dreams would I have anticipated seeing Four NBA titles in nine years for the Spurs. :clap This has been a terrific run that has made such a mark on not only San Antonio, but on NBA history as well.
I grew up in the Hill Country and attended my first Spurs game in 1978 (against the KC Kings) at the Hemisfair Area. I've lived in the Dallas area since getting out of school. A by-product of my choice of location (to earn a buck) is that I run across scores of the clueless Mavie fans. Boy its fun wearing one of my Championship hats or shirts around here. I'm still waiting for my invite to the big downtown parade for the 2007 Southwest Division Champions. Maybe I missed it. Oh well.
Just wanted to say "Hi" and let you know my next post will deal with a newfound phenomenon - Rockets Posters. They crawled out from under their collective rocks this summer.
Old Inspector Callahan will shoot some .44 caliber holes in the increasingly cocky Rocket Bandwagon in my next post. Me thinks there is a little too much gum flapping starting to come from the east (or the southeast) in my case.
