jefferson, Stoudemire named NBA Players of the Week

NEW YORK (Ticker) - New Jersey Nets forward Richard Jefferson and Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire have been named NBA Players of the Week.
Jefferson averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in a 3-1 week to earn the Eastern Conference honor. He shot 52 percent from the field and scored 20 or points in all four games as the Nets put together their best week of the season.
Stoudemire averaged a league-high 30.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in a 3-0 week to win the Western Conference award. He recorded three straight double-doubles for the first time this season, including a season-high 15 rebounds and career-high eight assists in a 113-110 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

Other nominees included Miami's Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade, Philadelphia's Allen Iverson, San Antonio's Tim Duncan and Minnesota's Kevin Garnett.
