This has to be the largest videogame event to date. Though I don't think Halo has that cross-cultural iconic recognition with the general public, it is very well known among gamers and those who associate with gamers.

Though I did not pre-order, I will attempt to get the game the day of and may take a short day at work. When halo 2 came out I went to blockbuster which is located on the westside and though they did have presale festivities, I was still able to walk in and out in 5 minutes.

Forge is an object editor - you can clear out a map and fully customize it with weapons, objects, etc. I personally plan on setting up a team DM style arena, where all weapons will be on the ground - and you frantically run to pick one up while blasting the crap out of the other team. I want to loosely base it on the fy_ maps from CounterStrike.

Man, editing a map in Forge is a BITCH - there's no option to clear all items, so you have to go remove them manually. I've got one map cleared out, but that took me 20 minutes so I'll start working on it when I feel like it.

Online is freakin pissing me off, I plug a whole clip into a guy, and he doesn't die. It's harder to take out ghosts since you can't carry more grenades, and the mid-range rifles suck. Also the ending was a little confusing, but I figured it out

I suck, Back on Halo 1 I would play 24-7 over gamespy tricking it into think it was a local lan game. Halo 2 I played for a few months and then lost interest in it. Halo 3 feel to much like Halo 2 for me, I will play it for awhile but the game I really am waiting for is Call of Duty 4.

I'm with you on that, thats why i rented it, spend about $20 playing it and then I'll lose interest not only b/c of CoD4, but Army of Two, GH3, Assassin's Creed etc.

The only thing I hate about Madden is it cancels the connection after like only 5 seconds of lag unlike 2k7 which gave it 15 seconds. This sucks for me because I have Qwest DSL and in Tucson thats begging for one crazy lag spike a game and a disconnect. My record right now is something like 5-11 and 3 of those games I was up by at least 2 touchdowns and got the loss, fucking sucks

I think they released Guitar Hero 19: Banjo Hero in Japan too so they're probably obsessed with that right now as well.

It will be interesting to see how the race between the Wii and the 360 develops now that the 360 has a couple of "must have" games.

The Wii will be countering soon with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which will probably become the best selling game on the console to this point.
