I voted for Oden, but seeing as how everyone is so infatuated with scoring, I should have probably picked Durant, even though I bet Oden will have more impact on the game.

I'll go with Scola.

Kori if you can correct things "He’s an experience player" under Scola.

Nice capsules on each player Kori.

Durant got my vote, I think he's going to have an incredible year.

Scola, he is probaby not the best player, but the most experienced one. And Houston will give him the minutes from the start coze they needed a starting PF.
I predict a 14/6/3 asts/in his roockie year,we´ll see what happens.

No doubt Durant has more talent than Scola but he'll face double-team each night and will probably struggle against the best defenders of the L (Artest, Bowen, etc.)
Scola should easily win ROY :fro

Kevin Durant
Although Durant was picked number two in the draft, he’s my favorite to win Rookie of the Year. His game is so silky smooth that it’s tough to imagine a scenario in which he doesn’t have success right away in the NBA. After the Seattle Supersonics traded away Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, the door is open for Durant to post huge numbers. If the rumors are true that Durant could start the season at shooting guard, I can see him averaging 20 points and six rebounds rather easily as a rookie.

Luis Scola
The Houston Rockets’ Argentinean import they acquired from the San Antonio Spurs could turn heads in his rookie season. Although at 27, Scola is far from your typical NBA rookie. He’s an experienced player at a variety of different levels who should be able to carve out a niche in the Rockets’ rotation. If that niche is a starting gig and over 30 minutes per game, Scola averaging 16 points and six rebounds isn’t out of the question

Good analysis, but I hope that you make a mistake. Both are west conference players. :depressed

For the record, I hate comments like this as jokes or not.

I pay A LOT of money out of pocket to run this forum. And deal with a lot of crap. If I pimp my own work here (and provide you all with some information along the way), then I'd expect you all to just respect that. No one forces you to open the links - but if you do, it obviously help me to make a living and continue to provide this forum to everyone ad free.

As for Scola, I'd expect him to get around 20 minutes a game to start off and average around 9 and 3.5. But if for some reason he averages 32-35 by season's end, he should be able to put up 16/6.

not true,if Ming misses half of the games nobody will get the double teams but T-mac.
If Yao gets the attention in the paint and gets the double teams, them Scola can be a 15/6 player.
Otherwise it´s gonna be harder.

9.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists.

those are Juwon Howard's numbers from last year so that will not wrk
so I will go with 9 points 4 rebounds a game

Good analysis. Got to be Durant. He's the guy who will be the focal point for that team straight out the gate. He'll probably have the most obvious growing pains of any of the prospects, but he'll also be the one who will be getting the most hands on experience to build on night in and night out. The others have the double edged sword of having good teammates around them. (Well, maybe not Horford) Their teams will probably do better but they will have to really work to assert themselves to stand out.

What;s up with Scola's eyes? I never noticed that before. Durant seems like a lock, especially if Oden has serious trouble with his knee.

with Oden out for the entire 2007-08 season I'd go for Durant hands down.

Scola, won't be a starter and might play limited minutes from the bench so his stats will NOT be as high as Kevin with his team built around him. I guess Scola will contribute 10-12 pts, 6 rbs only in around in a limited 25 minutes of play. Unless of course Yao will be on "vacation" again(if you know what I mean :lol).

I have another player to watch but might not be the next ROY-Q.Noah.

Now that Oden is out, it's Durant for sure! He was my favorite anyway even when we didn't know Oden's injury!
