I can understand referring to The Truman Show as overrated; a sentiment I do not share. However, referring to his performance as "Ace Ventura Light" does little justice to his performance and is, actually, puzzling.

You can easily draw comparisons through his comedic roles (Ace Ventura, The Mask, The Cable Guy etc.), but his performance as Truman stands apart from those characters.

I forgot about his Andy Kaufman performance as well.

The faces he makes and some of the comedic timing he employs in that movie are in the same vein of Ace Ventura. Of course, it's not over the top like Ace Ventura, but it's in the same vein.

The problem with Carrey is that his type of comedy is all the same. And, it's not even funny . . . it's more annoying that funny. The fact that he uses the same shtick over and over again, makes him quite tiresome.

But, I do give him props for The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Majestic.

Most actors play a variation on a type. Robin Williams comedic performances are all variations on a type; his serious roles (all quality) are variations on the same emotional recluse.

Carrey, while his comedic characters have been variations on the off the wall persona, has had some variety in his dramatic performances.

I truly enjoyed The Truman Show, despite it's flaws, and a large part of that was the sympathetic Hankesque character he was able to create. Just because an actor plays a variation on a type, does not mean they are incapable of a good performance.

Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Christopher Walken have been playing basically the same characters, with slight differences, the last few years. But, they are still delivering quality performances.

Anyway, Eternal Sunshine is one of my all-time favorite movies. Such a brilliant score.

LOLZ. This is the best thought I've ever heard to reinforce why a movie is good.

This means "From Justin to Kelly" is better than "Sideways". It means "Glitter" is better than "Boondock Saints".

at least this is a little bit better. i think you're capable of more though.

i'm guessing you were raised by Chris Berman, due to your insistence on using the exact same tired schtick over and over despite nobody finding it at all amusing anymore.
:cry :cry
How fucking dare anyone out there make fun of the pussyface after all he's been through. He went through a divorce, He had two kids ... and now he's going through a custody battle. All you people care about is readers and making money off of him. :cry :cry

HE'S A HUMAN!!!! He hasn't performed on SpursTalk in months. His song is called Siccophants for a reason - because all you people want is more, more, more, more, more ... :madrun :cry LEAVE HIM ALONE :cry :madrun !!!!!!! You're lucky he even performed for you bastards. Leave the pussyface alone ... please. :cry

I second Piven and Oldman. Bill Pullman usually does very good work.

...more of your trademark creativity. do you regurgitate this shit while you listen to 1310 the ticket or do you just hear it ahead of time and then crowbar in their material? i don't know how you managed to rip-off their constant chris berman bashing into this random context, but damn if you didnt manage.

you should be embarassed for yourself. the lack of creativity that you exhibit is funny and all, but it would be pathetic if it weren't coming from the keyboard of a 9th grader.

......you really can't say anything bad about the funny shit that I say when you bring nothing original to the table in the first place. since im literate in ticket shtick, that shit just won't fly

thats it for now, carlos mencia

ps... who's penis would you rather accept into your fanboy mouth... mike rhyner or leo dicaprio (no, you can't chose both)

trey parker and matt stone could do a whole episode on some guy logging onto message boards complaining and being pissed off that samantha morton doesnt get enough respect despite her 'noms.'

the charachter doing it would mostly likely have to be mr(s). garrison though or else it wouldn't seem that believable

wow....i thought i'd at least be mildly entertained by you the way i used to, but i just am not. you've really lost your edge there pussy. i used to actually laugh at the shit you talked at me. now it's just "oh hey yeah call me a Carlos Mencia-like copycat...check...portray me as effeminate...check...now throw in a dicaprio reference and we're done. yawn."

three consecutive posts and nothing substantial to show for it. it's a shame, it really is.

sorry you didn't laugh... usually people don't when they are the ones being made fun of. it takes a big person to laugh at themselves.

...dont worry though. i laughed my ass off reading your posts.

John Leguizamo is actually a pretty damn good actor.

He was the ONLY reason that Spawn was somewhat watchable.
