Showtime Bouts (10pm EST / Televised on Showtime)
MW Title: Murilo "Ninja" Rua vs Robbie Lawler (#7 MW)
Nick Diaz vs Mike Aina
Joey Villasenor vs Riki Fukuda
Renato "Charuto" Verissimo vs Jake Shields (#8 MW)
Gina Carano vs Tonya Evinger

ProElite.com Bouts (Streamed on ProElite.com after the Showtime telecast)
Chad Klingensmith vs Brandon Wolff
Kala Kohole Hose vs Jeff Cox
Mark Oshiro vs Nui Wheeler
Mark Kurano vs Jose Diaz

Prelim Bouts (9pm EST / Non-Broadcast)
Justin Bucholz vs Kolo Koka
Tyson Nam vs Albert Manners
Chico Cantiberos vs Elias Delosruyes

I really like this card. Lawler vs Ninja should be terrific. Nick Diaz is always fun to watch. Shields is one of the most under-rated fighters out there and Charuto is BJ Penn's ground coach (he was featured on an episode of Tapout). Joey Villasenor completely dominated The Crow. AND Gina Carano... :fro

Countdown to Ninja vs Lawler airs tonight and tomorrow on Showtime

Gina's opponent wants to make out with her...hahahaha...

“I’d like to make out with Gina, but I am here to knock her out. Either way she wants it, though, is fine. with me.”

:lol :lol :lol

Nick Diaz doing his thing in this interview...interesting stuff...
http://www.sportsline.com/mmaboxing/story/10350359/1

Diaz also believes he’s tested positive for marijuana before:

ND: …But I wasn’t really worried about it, because I give them dirty piss tests all the time in the UFC and every show I’ve ever fought in. So I don’t see what the problem is. They weren’t testing for it before. All of a sudden when they wanted to suspend me, they suspended me.

Q: So you’re saying you’ve tested positive for marijuana before?

ND: That’s the thing, nobody tested for it. There was no testing for it (marijuana). Nobody gave a s— if there was. So I’ve given about nine tests in my life and only one of them came up positive but for every one (of the tests) I had been smoking weed. And at least in the same month, so they had to have come up (positive).

I surely did watch them. I didn't have time to post after the fight.

Sheilds and Verissimo was okay.. Renato just got owned and it was evident from the bell.

Gina's fight was ugly. That was some ugly ass BJJ.

Joey and Fukuda was a great back and forth battle that should have ended in a draw. Too bad though, I didn't see a winner here, but it was a great fight. Fukuda may be getting some attention now. We'll see if he stays with Couture's camp or not. During the match I though Fukuda took it, but after re-watching it again, it was too close. I'm glad I forgot to place my bet, because I was going to bet on Fukuda for the upset.

Diaz and Aina was a decent fight. I could've napped between some of Diaz's punches. I'm not sure how this went to Diaz. I only gave the 3rd to Diaz, but you could argue Diaz took the last 1:30 of round 2. BUT, he got knocked down early in the 2nd. 1st was clearly Aina, 2nd I also gave to Aina, 3rd I gave to Nick.

For the Lawler fight, I thought it might turn out like his fight with Spratt because of the kicks that Ninja was throwing. By the end of the round I thought it was just a matter of time before Lawler connected and knew the fight was going his way. Good fight though.

It wouldn't have surprised me if Aina would've gotten the decision. The 2nd round was that close I thought. Same with Fukuda and Joey V...could've gone either way. Sometimes 3 rds just isn't enough. I'd like to see the 10 pts must system go byebye and use just judge the fight overall. If it's a draw, or too close to call either way, have one more round to decide it...

Ninja looked pretty good for 2 rds...good gameplan by Robbie. I'm sure his right leg is hurting today though...he took a lot of kicks...

I was hoping the card was going to be more entertaining. Lawler can bang though, I thought Rua was going to bring more to the table.

Diaz looked weight drained and wasn't into the fight he's lucky he got the W.
I thought Joey V did enough to get his W.
Shields owned his guy.

I think he had a list of "smart MMA things to say" and randomly threw them out. He needs to go as commentator.

He was fine in post fight interviews I suppose...........

I actually take that back i did find the Diaz fight entertaining. Diaz showed he has a monster chin to take that many hard knocks.

I missed the main fight of the night thanks to my wife :(
