Got a friend who is a few days away from his divorce and I want to take him out to celebrate. He loves cigars so I bought some limited edition Davidoff Puro Dominicanos for us to smoke that day.

It seems like more and more places are no longer cigar friendly so I'm looking to the Spurstalk community to help me out here. I'd thought about catching dinner at Reggianos and then doing some scotch and cigars at Cigar Club but we've dont that in the past.

Does anyone know of any cigar friendly places that have a decent scotch selection in town? Live music or good music would be great too but it's not a necessity.

as a new cigar, i guess, fan, I'd love to know this too.

Notorious, you've got the Davidoff Puros, have you tried the Jose Seijas cigars that Club Humidor has? I bought a box of them back in february and have loved em so much, I ordered another 3 boxes online.

The person working there told me they were limited edition, so Im worried about losing out on more lol.

Being a pipe smoker myself I've really started to enjoy some of the finer cigars that I never knew about.

Haven't tried them yet but I'll check them out. Are they full bodied, medium or mild?

Man, you need to hit up Chango's in Boerne. It's not far from 1604 & I-10. Web site below...

Spur worthy purchase.
I have like thirty shirts made in the Dominican. Does that count as gaining an extra spur?

I'll second that motion. Chango's also has a much better ventilation system than Cigar Club, so sitting in there isn't like being rolled inside of a cigar while you are smoking it.

i don't think there is a single place you could smoke a cigar in in austin. there are only a few places you can smoke in, period. the area has to be separate from the rest of the bar, and have its own ventilation system.

You really gotta try Club Cohiba in the Havana Riverwalk Inn. (http://sanantonio.citysearch.com/profile/11353182/san_antonio_tx/club_cohiba.html) Recently went their and had some single-malt scotches and fine-fine cigars.....go between 4-7 on weekdays to save some bread....fun, intimate place......

Have you tried La Aurora Preferidos, yet? They are well worth the smoke.
And they've been made in the Dominican Republic from the fields of the Cibao Valley since 1903--long before Castro chased anybody who knew how to make a decent cigar out of Cuba
I'm also rather fond of any of the La Gloria Cubana Serie R
And all of the Gurkha are fine
For folks who'd like a bit milder smoke (and a more budget minded), I've been recommending the Cusano 18--natural or maduro
And in a couple of months, Partagas will release their VERY limited number of Cifuentes Blend for the holidays

Spur worthy purchase.

I did buy two but I'll settle for one Spur for Excellent Taste in Cigars.

I happened to pick up three at the same time I picked up the Davidoffs. Just in case any other of the boys decided to show up for the celebration.

I have smoked cigars at both Mad Dogs and Lion & Rose in SA; Baby Acapulco in Austin
Otherwise a place with "patio" dining is the only thing I can come up with

I noticed that Augie BBQ has a cigar bar. It's at 3709 N. St. Mary across from the golf course by the zoo. We've been there for the free bbq sandwiches they give out as Spurs Rewards.

very, very nice smoke

I have become a big fan of the Sancho Panza Maduro as well.

Also, Swig is cigar friendly, they even have a cigar menu.
