Mavs 2008 Champs. It is an even year for the Spurs, Miami is done as is Golden State. We just have to wait until late June 2008 before it is confirmed that the Mavs are the champions of the world! :clap :clap :clap

Whats the Cavaliers excuse for not winning, well, at all?

No answer, don't know why I bother.

The Suns the champions?

Exactly what epiphony of defense did the Suns acquire over the summer?

Grant Hill? GMAFB.

Spurs or Mavericks will come out of the west.

Bulls or Celtics in the east.

That simple.

Every year for the Cavs is just bullshit. What a overrated and overhyped team. I see them being the Phoenix of the east. But at least Phoenix has some offensive talent.

My 2007-2008 prediction:

ashrafabdeljaber comes up with a "classic" pic of Michael Jordan getting blocked by Bill Russell, claims its real, then claims its not, then wonders why everyone is laughing at him again.

:sleep :sleep I am sorry but did the Spurs win the southwest division? Did they win 67 games? We have every right to talk shit. We won the regular season championship! We beat the Spurs 3-1. Dirk won the MVP! Yeah you celebrated a fucking championship. Big fucking deal. We celebrated with a division banner/MVP parade. Last time I checked, the spurs didnt win either award. So if I were you, I would just zip it! :elephant :elephant :elephant :clap :clap :clap :madrun :madrun :pctoss :pctoss

Dallas will beat the crap out of the Spurs again, they just had bad luck agaisnt a mismatch like the Warriors, They are WAY better than the Spurs as indicated by the 2006 playoffs and this year regular season (3-1) in favor of the Mavs.

Luck doesn't come every year for the Spurs, it will run out this coming season, hopefully the league will have more control over the refs which means no freebies for the Spurs.

Phoenix and Dallas will be hungry and more alert.

Second round exit for the Spurs once again.

I wonder what excuse are they going to have this time?

Maybe: "Parker played summer ball and wasn't 100% from his ankle "injury" suffered during international play. LOL

Must I remind you the Spurs led the NBA last year in point differential.

The Spurs will repeat in '08 for these reasons:

THE DIRTY DOZEN

1) they have the best team as they had the best point differential last year.

[they also play a slow tempo, so point differential is more significant than for, say, Phoenix.]

2) they had the best record in the playoffs last year.

3) Joey Crawford will not ref their games this year.

4) Udoka is a key addition, as Bowen may slow down a little.

5) the Spurs did not adapt to the new ball last season, and got much better when the old ball returned.

6) Ginobilli off the bench > Ginobilli starting, so they can do it for the whole year, instead of half.

7) Duncan was recovering from a painful foot injury during the first half of last year. This year he isn't.

8) Duncan is in the best shape of his life.

9) This is the first time attention is being placed on the Spurs failure to repeat, and the challenge will motivate them.

10) Duncan is by far the best player in the NBA if you look at lenovo +/- ratings. He blew everyone out of the park the second half of last year.

11) Vegas odds place the Spurs as favorites to repeat.

12) By the second half of the year, Beno will be the backup point guard. The Spurs biggest weakness is backup point guard. Beno is talented, now has experience, and has a burning desire to win.

You lost me here.
Beno is talented but he cannot function in Pop's system.

I'm also not convinced about the new ball/old ball.
The Spurs got better after the Rodeo trip, as they usually do. The ball was a coincidence.

I just can't wait to see Garnett, Allen, and Pierce fighting each other for the ball, and giving the confused look of "I thought you had him" on defense.
